Abstract:
An improved flanged tube assembly with insert-reinforced tube flanges to prevent tube flange deformation and leakage when subjected to high compressive forces as well as sustained high-temperature procedures. The flange inserts are configured to form the flange portion of a flanged tube, or configured to provide structural support to the portions of the flange integral to the associated tube. The inserts may be metallic or polymer based and formed with various structural features to create a mechanical lock between the insert and the material used to make the tube/flange assembly. The inserts can be incorporated into the tube flanges so as to provide the desired support without being exposed to any fluids and/or gases that may flow through the reinforced tube/flange assemblies.
Abstract:
The invention describes a spin-on filter (14) for a filter device (10) for fluid, in particular liquid, in particular oil or fuel, in particular of an internal combustion engine, in particular of a motor vehicle, a filter device (10), and a filter head (12) of a filter device (10). The spin-on filter (14) has a housing pot (64) in which a filter element (70) is arranged. Furthermore, the spin-on filter (14) has a connection body (66) which is arranged at the face side on the housing pot (64) and which is equipped with at least one fluid opening (104) and with a central opening (98) in the middle. Furthermore, the spin-on filter (14) has a filter-side connecting part (108) of a connecting device (22) for detachable connection of the spin-on filter (14) to a filter head (12) of the filter device (10), said filter-side connecting part being arranged at the central opening (98) in the middle. The filter-side connecting part (108) is detachably connectable, by means of a push and/or turn movement about a connecting axis (26), to a connector of a head-side connecting part (20) of the filter head (12). An inner seal (92) is provided which has a seal surface (93), which seal surface encircles a central fluid duct (86) and is offset axially toward the filter element (70) relative to the filter-side connecting part (108), and an encircling sealing surface (32) of a filter head-side fluid connector (28) can be brought into sealing contact with said seal surface for the purposes of separating an untreated side (82) from a clean side (78) of the spin-on filter (14).
Abstract:
A filtering apparatus includes a cylindrical filter F having a cylinder axis in a vertical direction, and a casing C surrounding the filter F, in which untreated water a is filtered through the filter F from an outer circumferential surface to an inner circumferential surface of the filter F, and the resulting filtered water a' is guided to the outside of the casing C. The filter F includes a plurality of divided filters arranged in the direction of the cylinder axis, and the divided filters can be easily repaired and replaced. The divided filters can be connected and integrated together via reinforcing rods 33 by using threaded connections 36, and can be individually detached. When a sealing member 38 is provided between upper and lower facing surfaces of the divided filters, the untreated water does not flow from an upper surface and a lower surface of the divided filters, and the sealing member is rotated together with the filter and does not slide. Thus, degradation of the sealing member is suppressed and a rotational driving force can also be reduced. A separable reinforcing body 40 including an intermediate support disk 42 and connecting rods 43 is preferably provided in the filter.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A filter arrangement for threadably securing to a filter head includes a housing having a surrounding wall defining an interior volume, an open mouth providing access to the interior volume and an end opposite of the open mouth. The surrounding wall has an exterior and an interior. A filter media construction is operably held within the interior volume. A sleeve, distinct from the housing, is secured to the exterior of the surrounding wall adjacent to the housing mouth and extending partially along the surrounding wall. The sleeve has an exterior and an interior. The exterior of the sleeve defines mounting threads constructed and arranged to removable mount with the filter head, when the filter arrangement is secured to the filter head. The interior of the sleeve is against the exterior of the surrounding wall. A first seal member is oriented against the sleeve to create a seal with a filter head, when the filter arrangement is secured to the filter head. A filter assembly includes a filter arrangement and a filter head. The filter arrangement is removably secured to the filter head by a threaded connection between the sleeve and the filter head. A system includes an engine utilizing a liquid and a filter assembly in fluid communication with the engine to filter the liquid. Methods of making filter arrangements include utilizing structures characterized above.

Abstract:
A sealing gasket and a method are provided. One aspect of the sealing gasket includes a base. The base is densified to form a substantially flat portion and a raised seal portion. The raised seal portion is configured to conform to a contour of a surface of a component and seals a region between the surface and the base to prevent fluid leakage. Another aspect of the sealing gasket includes a filter portion. The filter portion is coupled to the base and configured to extend across a fluid passageway of the base.
