A damper with a vehicle height adjusting function comprising a cylindrical case (12) vertically movably installed outside the damper body (1) of an inverted damper and connected to a damper rod (2), a pressure chamber (13) defined between the damper body (1) and the case (12) and having scaled therein a pressure medium having a low boiling point to undergo gas-liquid change, a heater disposed in the pressure chamber (13) for heating and vaporizing the pressure medium to raise the vehicle height by the vapor pressure of the pressure medium, wherein the heater is adapted for easy mounting and dismounting to improve the maintainability and the effect of the presence of the heater on the suspension stroke is reduced. The heater is formed in a bar shape, and this bar heater (16) is inserted horizontally into the bottom of the pressure chamber (13) through a mouth ring (12d) installed in the case (12), the tail end of the bar heater (16) being threadedly connected to the mouth ring (12d).

Coupling device (6,58) for releasably connecting hydraulic lines (4,5,57), comprises first and second coupling members (21,22,65,56). These members are adapted to be fixed to the respective ends of the hydraulic lines (4,5,57) to be connected, to releasably close said respective ends, and to be connected with each other for establishing a fluid connection between said hydraulic lines.

Mehrstufige Luftfeder, insbesondere für eine luftgefederte Fahrzeugachse eines Nutzfahrzeuges Bei einer bekannten mehrstufigen Luftfeder erfolgt eine Betätigung eines Luftabsperrventils in Abhängigkeit des Federweges. Zumeist sind aufwendige Schaltgestänge von Nöten. Eine Niveauregulierung des Fahrzeugaufbaus ist nicht möglich. Es wird bei einer mehrstufigen Luftfeder (1) ein zwischen den Druckräumen (2, 3) angeordnetes Luftabsperrventil (4) vorgeschlagen, welches bei einem vorgegebenen Druck in einem Druckraum (2) der Druckräume (2, 3) gegen die Kraft einer Ventilfeder (12) und/oder einen Steuerdruck einer Steuerleitung (16) schließt bzw. bei erhöhtem Steuerdruck öffnet.
Abstract:
An automotive vehicle suspension with a vehicle level regulator incorporates a pneumatic-to-hydraulic pressure converter (50) between a pneumatic leveling controller (54) and a hydraulic shock absorber (20). The converter consists of a rigid housing fixed to a convenient location next to the shock absorber and a rolling diaphragm dividing the housing in a pneumatic chamber and a hydraulic chamber. Control pressure from the pneumatic controller (54) acts on the diagram to adjust the hydaulic pressure in the hydraulic chamber which communicates with the working fluid of the shock absorber. The resulting pressure change in the shock absorber causes corresponding movement of a piston which determines the actual vertical spacing between a vehicle body and wheel.
