Abstract: The present invention relates to a cutting device for fitting on an unmanned aerial vehicle for the high-level pruning of vegetation in areas close to power distribution lines, which includes at least one system for attachment to the aerial vehicle having a central beam, at least four arms having connection points to connect to rods of the unmanned aerial vehicle, the rods are oriented toward motors of the aerial vehicle for attachment to the aerial vehicle and a system for releasing at least one cutting tool whilst in use, and at least one cutting tool, made up of a plurality of saws each driven by a motor, a cutting rod for attaching the plurality of saws and an automatic leveling system for the cutting rod, which maintains the rod in a horizontal position during the cutting process.

Abstract: Wildfires release enormous quantities of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in addition to devastating animal habitats, destroying homes, and causing fatalities. Drones equipped with artificial intelligence to navigate through wooded locations, fire-detection hardware, and firefighting hardware can protect the environment by preventing wildfires. Methods can use a drone system that includes one or more drones to prevent wildfires. Each drone can include an infrared camera configured to detect fires. Each drone can fly in view of areas that might have a fire. After detecting a fire, the drone system can put out the fire if the fire is small. The drone system can also notify systems and people who can put out the fire.

Abstract: An autonomous vehicle that is equipped with image capture devices can use information gathered from the image capture devices to plan a future three-dimensional (3D) trajectory through a physical environment. To this end, a technique is described for image-space based motion planning. In an embodiment, a planned 3D trajectory is projected into an image-space of an image captured by the autonomous vehicle. The planned 3D trajectory is then optimized according to a cost function derived from information (e.g., depth estimates) in the captured image. The cost function associates higher cost values with identified regions of the captured image that are associated with areas of the physical environment into which travel is risky or otherwise undesirable. The autonomous vehicle is thereby encouraged to avoid these areas while satisfying other motion planning objectives.
