Abstract:
The present invention relates to silane reactive hot melt adhesive compositions having improved green strength, the production of such adhesives and the use of such adhesives.
Abstract:
Disclosed are perfluoroethers and perfluoroether compositions useful in high temperature aerospace applications. The perfluoroethers can be adapted for use with various curing chemistries.
Abstract:
The present invention provides curable compositions comprising non-tin metal catalysts that accelerate the condensation curing of moisture-curable silicones/non-silicones. In particular, the present invention provides bismuth(III) sulfonate complexes that are particularly suitable as replacements for organotin in sealant and RTV formulations. In one embodiment, the present invention provides bismuth (III) camphorsulfonate and bismuth(III) methanesulfonate complexes. Further, these bismuth(III) sulfonate complexes are comparable or superior to organotin such as DBTDL, exhibit certain behavior in the presence of components that allow for tuning or adjusting the cure characteristics of the present compositions, and provide good adhesion and storage stability.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to new improved adhesives for binding books and related articles and the production of such adhesives. In particular, the adhesives have reduced content of monomeric diisocyanates or no monomeric diisocyanate content.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a moisture cross-linkable composition usable as an adhesive or sealant which is very easy to use and exhibits excellent bonding performance. The composition is obtained by mixing 100 parts by weight of an organic polymer (A) with moisture cross-linkable reactive silane terminal functions and 1 to 70 parts by weight of an organic polymer (B) miscible at ambient temperature with polymer (A), selected from among polyesters, polyethers, polyurethanes, polyacrylates, polyethylenediimines, polycarbonates, polyureas or polyamides.
Abstract:
A fastening composition for attaching two articles, comprising a mixture of an aerobic adhesive and a hydrophilic substance. A process for fixing an article to a substrate, includes the steps of initially preparing a fastening composition by mixing together a hydrophilic substance and an aerobic adhesive; applying a layer of the fastening composition to the article; and subsequently fixing the article to the substrate by pressing the layer of the fastening composition against the substrate. The aerobic adhesive in this layer hardens because of the moisture contained in the hydrophilic substance.
Abstract:
A problem of the present invention is to provide a curable composition which gives good curability, adhesiveness and storage stability by use of a catalyst other than organic tin catalysts. The above problem is solved by a curable composition, comprising: (A) one or more organic polymers having a reactive-silicon-containing group, and (B) a silanol condensation catalyst consisting of one or more compound(s) selected from organic tin compounds, carboxylic acids, and amine compounds, wherein at least one part of the reactive-silicon-containing group(s) of the organic polymer(s) (A) is represented by the following general formula (1): —(CR22)2—(SiR12-aXaO)m—SiX3 (1), and the silanol condensation catalyst (B) consists of amine compound(s) (B1) or consists of amine compound(s) (B1) and a carboxylic acid (B2), and when the mol number of the amine compound(s) is regarded as 1, the ratio by mol of the total amount of the carboxylic acid(s) to the amount of the amine compound(s) is 0.1 or less.
