Abstract: A solid film lubricant system for protecting metal wear interfaces subject to high temperatures and wet lubrications, comprising an oil-attracting solid lubricant mixture (A) with at least two elements (A1, A2, A3) selected from the group of graphite, MoS2 and BN; a support (B) (i.e., hard lands or hard sublayer) for the mixture to loads of at least 10 psi at temperatures of 600-800 DEG F while being thermally stable; a thermally stable thermoset polymer matrix adhering the mixture to the support or the wear surface, the polymer having inherent hydrocarbon chemical attraction to form a tenacious oil film of the lubricating oil on the wearing surfaces, such as cylinder bore surfaces of a cylinder block of an internal combustion engine.

Abstract: The invention provides a silicone grease composition where the high friction properties are improved, with no decrease of the wear preventive characteristics. The silicone grease composition contains a thickener, a base oil containing a silicone oil in an amount of 50 mass % or more of the total mass of the base oil, and a metallic oxide with a Mohs hardness of 6 or less as a friction modifier.

Abstract: Provided is a lubricating oil composition of an environmental regulation compliant type, comprising (A) a base oil for a lubricating oil, (B) sulfated oxymolybdenum dithiocarbamate, (C) an acid amide compound, (D) (d1) a fatty acid partial ester compound and/or (d2) an aliphatic amine compound and (E) a specific benzotriazole derivative, wherein a content of the component (B) is 0.02 to 0.1% by mass in terms of molybdenum; a content of the component (C) is 0.2 to 1.0 % by mass; a content of the component (D) is 0.2 to 1.0% by mass; and a content of the component (E) is 0.02 to 0.1% by mass each based on the whole amount of the composition, and it has an excellent friction reducing effect in combination with a high corrosion preventing effect to copper and lead.

Abstract: A solid lubricant and composition useful for lubricating the flanges of locomotive wheels, railcar wheels, rail track and in applications where it is desirable to reduce friction when metal contacts metal. The solid lubricant having from about twenty-five percent to about seventy percent by volume of a polymeric carrier, about five to seventy-five percent by volume of organic and inorganic extreme pressure additives, about zero to twenty percent by volume synthetic extreme pressure anti-wear liquid oil, and about zero to one percent by volume optical brightener.

Abstract: A reversible thermal thickening grease for microelectronic packages, in which the grease contains filler particles; at least one polymer; and a binder; in which the filler particles are dispersed within the binder, in which one or more segments of the at least one polymer may be attached to the filler particles prior to dispersion in the binder, and in which the polymer collapses at temperatures below a Theta temperature and swells at temperatures above a Theta temperature. During the operation of a microelectronic package, grease pump-out and air proliferation are minimized with use of the reversible thermal thickening grease, while grease fluidity is retained under repetitive thermal stresses.

Abstract: There is provided a lubricant composition which includes: a first particle having a spherical shape having a diameter of 1 to 300 nm, having a Moose Hardness of 5 or more, at an amount of 0.01 to 40 weight %; and a second particle, having a diameter of 500 nm to 50 μm, having a brinel hardness of 17HB or less, at an amount of 0.01 to 40 weight %. The lubricant composition can form a bearing structure when the lubricant composition is subjected to an extreme pressure. The second particles are deformed into a retainer for the first particle.
