An adjustable snap-acting hinge is provided. The hinge includes a first articulated quadrilateral and a second articulated quadrilateral, which can move on a working plane and share a first lever and a second lever and are provided respectively with a plate for coupling to a first element and with a plate for fixing to a second element. A contrast element is associated with the coupling plate and can be arranged in at least one position for use, which lies between a first position in which the contrast element is arranged at a maximum distance from the point of the first lever, and a second position in which the contrast element is arranged at a minimum distance from the point of the first lever. The hinge also includes locking means for keeping the contrast element in the position for use.

A hinge for a door anchored to a wall, the hinge including a fixed element coupled to the wall and a movable element coupled to the door. The fixed and movable elements rotate between an open position and a closed position about a first longitudinal axis. One of the movable and fixed elements includes cam means rotating about the first longitudinal axis, the other of the movable and fixed elements including follower means mutually interacting with the cam means for sliding along a second longitudinal axis substantially perpendicular to the first axis. The follower means includes an elastic counteracting element. The cam means includes a first cam element interacting with the follower means for movement from end-stroke positions to an intermediate position and vice-versa. The cam means further includes a second cam element interacting with the follower means for movement from the intermediate position to the end-stroke positions and vice-versa.

Provided is a retracting device in which dampers have improved durability and strokes of operation of the dampers are not reduced. A first slider 14-1 for assisting closing, a second slider 14-2 for assisting opening, and a damper base 22 are provided in an elongating base 12 to be slidable in a longitudinal direction of the base 12. The damper base 22 is disposed between the first slider 14-1 and the second slider 14-2. A first damper 24 is provided over between the first slider 14-1 and the damper base 22 and a second damper 25 is provided over between the second slider 14-2 and the damper base 22.

A safe is provided for securely storing property that may be accessed quickly. A biometric scanner is coupled to a latching mechanism which may be actuated upon input of a recognized pattern, such as a fingerprint. The safe door may be spring actuated to automatically open upon release of the locking mechanism. The latch positively locks the door so that it resists opening from sharp blows to the safe.

A slide assist device includes a draw-in unit including a case attached to one of a main body or a mobile body, a slider slidably placed on the case, a latch pivotally supported in the slider and switchable between a standby position locking in a corresponding portion of the case and a draw-in position releasing the locking; and an urging device; and an actuating member attached to the other of the main body or the mobile body, switching the latch from the standby position to the draw-in position, or from the draw-in position to the standby position. The latch includes an axis portion having a flat surface and rotatably fits in an axis hole of the slider and forming a positional control surface corresponding to the flat surface. When the latch is switched to the standby position, the flat surface and the positional control surface face each other.

A gas strut assembly includes a housing defining an interior space. A rod is coupled to the housing, and is slideably moveable between an extended position and a retracted position. A flexible member is secured in position relative to the housing. A rigid member is coupled to and moveable with the rod. The flexible member includes at least one displaceable member that moves radially away from the central axis in response to a second radial force component of a closing force when engaged by the rigid member moving from the extended position into the retracted position. The flexible member includes a multi-layered structure that changes shape in response to a change in temperature to affect the magnitude of the second radial force component required to move the displaceable member.

A door body holding structure that can hold a door body at an open position by using a simple configuration. A projecting portion 40, which projects toward a containing wall 38 side, is provided on an outer surface of a bearing portion 32 of a fixed-side hinge at a position facing the containing wall 38 where the projecting portion 40 does not come into contact with an inner surface of a guide portion 34 when the door body 18 is at a closed position but the projecting portion 40 comes into contact with the inner surface of the guide portion 34 when the door body 18 is at the open position. A separation dimension between a projecting end of the projecting portion 40 and the containing wall 38 is set to be smaller than a thickness dimension of the guide portion 34. That is, when the inner surface of the guide portion 34 reaches the position at which it comes into contact with the projecting portion 40 by pivoting movement of the door body 18 from the closed position toward the open position, the guide portion 34 is sandwiched and held between the projecting portion 40 and the containing wall 38, thereby holding the door body 18 at the open position.

An opening device including an elongate ejector ram mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner in a housing and pretensioned at one end by a spring into a position in which it protrudes out of the housing and pushable back into the housing counter to the pretensioning. A releasable locking device locks the ejector ram in a position retracted in the housing. A tensioning device is provided forcibly displaces the ejector ram. When the movable furniture part is completely opened, a tensioning device forcibly displaces the ejector ram into the locking position retracted within the housing. The tensioning device converts the opening movement of the movable furniture part in the interior of the housing via a tensioning member having one end guided out of the housing into a movement pulling the ejector ram back into the retracted position.
