Abstract:
A method for controlling a subordinate electronic device by learning an IR signal is provided. An electronic control device acquires control signal induction information corresponding to an identifier of the specific IR signal upon acquiring a specific IR signal. Alternatively, the electronic control device may support an electronic control device of another space such that the electronic control device acquires the control signal induction information corresponding to the identifier of the specific IR signal. The electronic control device generates a specific IR signal by using the acquired control signal induction information, if a user of a predetermined space or another space intends to control a specific subordinate electronic device. The database acquires a plurality of IR signals in a first space to an n-th space, sorts IR signals not overlapping among the plurality of IR signals, and manages the control signal induction information corresponding to each IR signal not overlapping.
Abstract:
A remote control for one or more technical devices includes: a passive or active radiofrequency identification (RFID) transponder, configured to be triggered by a switching contact physically touched by a user, in order to transmit data to control the one or more technical devices.
Abstract:
An electronic device and a method for controlling an external device thereof are provided. The method for controlling an external device by an electronic device includes: in response to a trigger input being sensed, determining an external device from among a plurality of external devices that is indicated by the electronic device; providing a user interface (UI) screen of an application corresponding to the external device indicated by the electronic device; and in response to a user command being input through the UI screen of the application, transmitting a control signal corresponding to the user command to the external device indicated by the electronic device.
Abstract:
A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus is configured to control at least one external device to which an identification marker is attached. The display apparatus also includes an imaging sensor configured to obtain an image of the at least one external device, and a communicator configured to perform communication with at least one of a server and the at least one external device. The display apparatus also includes a processor configured to transmit identification information obtained from an identification marker included in the image, and in response to control information for controlling the at least one external device being received from the server or the at least one external device, control the display to match and display an object for controlling the at least one external device with an external device image based on the control information.
Abstract:
Provided is a method, device, and computer-readable medium for controlling a robot graphic user interface (“RGUI”) on a mobile device. The method can include determining a distance, a position, or both of the mobile device with respect to a first robot; and causing, by a processor, a first RGUI to be displayed on a display of the mobile device based on the determining.
Abstract:
A controlling device such as a remote control has programming for transmitting a signal response to a plurality of control environments, each environment including a signaling device. Each signaling device in receipt of the signal request sends a signal response having a unique ID which is chosen to be characteristically attenuated by the surroundings of the environment. Because the controlling device can only be in one environment at a given time, and given the attenuation characteristics of the signal response from each signaling device, only one signal response will be received by the controlling device in each environment. Location definitions associated with the received unique ID may be used by programming in the controlling device to recall saved devices states, commands sets, macros, and even to dynamically generate commands based on the location information.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a method for changing a graphical user interface is provided. The method may include identifying one or more devices. The method may include determining product information associated with the one or more devices, whereby the product information includes at least one of a type, a model number, and a brand. The method may include determining one or more applications associated with the one or more devices based on the product information, whereby the one or more applications allow for operation of the one or more devices. The method may include retrieving the one or more applications. The method may include determining that the computer is oriented toward a first device of the one or more devices. The method may include displaying a first graphical user interface corresponding to a first application of the one or more applications that allows for operation of the first device.

Abstract:
To accurately determine the nearest electronic device in establishing a pairing with an electronic device to be a target for remote control. A terminal device includes a received signal strength acquiring unit, a device selection processing unit, and a connecting unit. The received signal strength acquiring unit receives a signal transmitted from a plurality of electronic devices and acquires the electric field strength of the received signal. The device selection processing unit selects an electronic device to be a target for connection from the plurality of electronic devices in accordance with a normalized electric field strength that is a value obtained by normalizing the electric field strength of the received signal using a parameter corresponding to and unique to an electronic device that transmits the received signal. The connecting unit establishes a connection with the electronic device selected at the device selection processing unit.
