PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image reading system which calculates a reading time and displays it. SOLUTION: The image reading system consists of an image reading unit 1 and a host computer 2, and is operated from the host computer 2 side. The host computer 2 includes a display monitor 2A and an operating member 2B, and the member 2B is provided with a keyboard and a mouse. The unit 1 has a CPU 11, memory 12, an interface circuit 13, an illumination LED driving circuit 14, an analog signal processing circuit 15, an A/D converter 16, a digital signal processing circuit 17, a timing control circuit 18, a document moving motor driving circuit 19, a magnetic signal processing circuit 20, a line sensor 21, a lens L, a document moving motor 22, an LED light source 23, an optical information reading sensor 24, and a document position detecting sensor 25. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make films different in format processible without needing a readjustment. SOLUTION: This scanning device is provided with film transferring devices 51, 52, 120 and 71, a guiding device, illuminators 81 and 82, a photoelectric transducer 85 and optical means 83 and 84 leading measuring light transmitted through scanning film to the photoelectric transducer 85; and the guiding device has a movable platform 100 which guides and positions the films different in format and is selectively adjustable, and the platform is automatically adjusted by a sensor 140 detecting the format of the film to be scanned and a controller. Cutting devices 14 and 15 cutting a leader card L from the film is provided on the upstream side of the entrance 21 of the scanning device, and the film is supplied to the entrance 21 by a transferring means 11 after the leader card is removed. Abstract:
A photographic film scanner (305) for scanning a film strip containing a plurality of photographic images is disclosed. The film strip is advanced through the scanner and a digital image of the film strip is created. Individual images contained in the digital image of the film strip are located and displayed. The film strip is scanned at any of a variety of resolutions.

An image data processing system is disclosed which comprises: an image inputting section (1) for inputting image data; an image processing section (3) that performs image processing on the input image data to create image data for printing; a first controlling section (4) that performs controls over the image inputting section (1) and the image processing section (3); and an image transmitting section (8) capable of simultaneously transmitting the image data for printing to a print preparing device (C) and to an image storing device (B). The image storing device (B) further includes an image receiving section (20) that receives the image data for printing that are transmitted from the image transmitting section (8); a storing medium (22) for storing the received image data; and a second controlling section (24) that performs controls over the image receiving section (20) and the storing medium (22) .
