Abstract:
A headset (100) includes a wearable body (104), first and second earphones (140a, 140b) extending from the wearable body, controls (170) for controlling an external communication/multimedia device (90) wirelessly, a microphone (130) for picking up voice data from a user (50) of the headset and a signal processing unit (180). The signal processing unit (180) includes circuitry (120) for processing the voice data (132) into a distinctly audible vocal feedback signal, circuitry (120) for enhancing the vocal feedback signal thereby producing an enhanced vocal feedback signal and circuitry (160) for mixing the enhanced vocal feedback signal with audio signals (112) originating from the external communication/multimedia device (90), thereby producing a mixed output signal (165) and then sending the mixed output signal (165) to the user via the earphones (140a, 140b). The external communication/multimedia device (90) comprises a vocal command application (200) and the headset (100) further comprises a vocal command control (190) for sending vocal commands to the external communication/multimedia device (90) and to the vocal command application (200).
Abstract:
Methods and systems enable a user to inject sound clips from an audio device (270) into a telephone conversation. The invention includes an adapter (202) that connects to an audio player (270), a user listening device (220), and a communication device such as a telephone (280). In different embodiments, these connections may be wired, wireless or a combination of both. The audio player (270) is selectable and of the type wherein stored audio clips can be changed, for example an MP3 player, CD or DVD player, video player, computer or the like. In operation, the user selects an audio clip from the audio device (270) for substantially immediate and simultaneous playback through the user listening device (220) and the telephone (280). In this manner, both the user and any other party to the telephone conversation can hear the audio clip substantially simultaneously.
Abstract:
Audio eyeglasses comprise: a frame assembly having left and right temples and a front; a lens assembly secured to the frame assembly; and an audio unit disposed in the frame assembly. The audio unit comprises: (i) mass storage means for storing a plurality of digital audio files and selectively outputting at least one of said digital audio files; (ii) a playback unit adapted to receive said at least one digital audio file from said mass storage means and convert it to an electrical audio output signal; and (iii) control means for enabling said user to select said at least one audio file for output and control the playback thereof by said playback unit. At least one, and preferably two, audio transducers are attached to the frame assembly and proximate an ear of the user. The transducers are operably connected to the audio unit to receive the electrical audio output signal and convert it to a sound wave transmitted to the user's ears. Further provided is a personal audio system incorporating the audio eyeglasses and a docking station adapted to receive the eyeglasses and be connected to a computer for download of digital audio files.
Abstract:
Wearable audio equipment having audio circuitry, speaker devices (4) and a solar cell arrrangement (10) for powering the audio circuitry, all carried by a headband arrangement (6, 8) to enable the equipment to be mounted on a user's head.
Abstract:
Wireless-enabled loudspeaker includes a wooden capacitive touch user interface. The loudspeaker may comprise at least one electroacoustic transducer, a processor in communication with the at least one electroacoustic transducer, and a wooden exterior surface comprising a capacitive touch user interface that allows a user to control operation of the loudspeaker. The wooden exterior surface acts a dielectric for the capacitive touch user interface. The loudspeaker may comprise a wireless transceiver circuit for receiving and transmitting wireless communication signals via a wireless network. The wireless transceiver circuit may receive wirelessly audio content from streaming audio content servers that are connected to the Internet. The capacitive touch user interface comprises a plurality of user control icons etched in the wooden exterior surface, and a plurality of capacitive sense electrodes located under the wooden exterior surface.
