PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridging unit for short-circuiting a conversion cell of a multilevel converter.SOLUTION: The bridging unit 26 includes a mechanical bistable relay 34, an electronic power switch 36 and a drive unit 42, and is inserted between the input and output X1, X2 of the conversion cell 18. The electric power switch 36 includes a thyristor 38 driven by the drive unit 42 through a gate control 40. The drive unit 42 can transmit an open signal or a close signal to the mechanical relay 34 through a first signal wire 44, and the drive unit can also transmit the open signal or close signal to the gate control unit 40 through a second signal wire 46 to operate the electronic power switch 36.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for an electrical system capable of significantly suppressing an unwanted alternating current. SOLUTION: An electrical system includes a voltage source 2 and a serial circuit including an inductance L and a capacitance C connected in parallel with the voltage source 2 via a conductor. The inductance L and the capacitance C are connected in series via a conductor. The conductor for connecting the voltage source 2 to the series circuit including the capacitance C and the inductance L or the conductor in the series circuit including the capacitance C and the inductance L is surrounded by a ring 3. The ring can be magnetized by an air gap of an interference current compensation device 1. As a result of magnetization of the ring 3 by a magnetizing coil 4 of the interference current compensation device 1, a compensation voltage U K is applied to the conductor for connecting the voltage source 2 to the series circuit including the capacitance C and the inductance L or the conductor in the series circuit including the capacitance C and the inductance L. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightning arrester that can be manufactured easily at a low cost and has excellent operating characteristics. SOLUTION: This lightning arrester is provided with a lightning arrester housing, two power terminals 16 and 17 guided to the outside from the housing, and at least one disk-like varistor disposed in the housing. The varistor has two contact spots provided on its end face sides and the contact spots are conductively connected to the power terminals 16 and 17, respectively. The varistor is provided with a working section 12 not covered with a metal and two elastic contact elements 11 and 13 which are pressed against end faces of the working section 12 while the elements 11 and 13 are electrically contacted with the end faces.
