Abstract: The line circuit includes an amplifier arrangement with two amplifiers (LOA1/2) each able to sink current from an associated line conductor (L1/2) to a negative voltage (V-) and via a common transistor (T). Each amplifier has an individual overcurrent detection circuit (OCD1/2) and a individual current limiting circuit (CLC1/2). The detection circuits are coupled to the limiting circuits through a common detection circuit (OCD3) and a common gating circuit (GCI) which supplies an active output signal to the limiting circuits when both the amplifiers sink excessive currents.

Abstract: A current control circuit for a circuit board carrying a parallel circuit comprising an input capacitor (Cb) shunted by an electronic circuit (IC) constituted by CMOS devices which do not dissipate power as long as no clock signal (CK) is applied to them. This control circuit limits voltage variations across other parallel circuits on other circuit boards already coupled to a power supply (PS), i.e. with charged input capacitors, when the present circuit board is newly coupled to this power supply or source. This is done by first intercoupling the parallel circuit and the source via a resistance and meanwhile preventing the clock signal (CK) from being applied to the electronic circuit (IC), and by allowing this clock signal to be applied to the electronic circuit (IC) during gradually increasing time periods (Th) after the resistance has been short-circuited.

Abstract: The proposed policing device includes selection means (SEL) to form a composite information stream which consists of the information units of a plurality of individual information streams. In this way the policing device can for instance police more efficiently information streams carrying bursty traffic. Indeed, a composite stream, formed from a plurality of such individual information streams, has, due to the statistical properties of such information streams, a less bursty information rate which can be characterized much more efficiently. Hence also the policing algorithm (PA1;..;PAN) used to police the composite stream will be much less complicated than the policing algorithm needed to police the separate streams carrying bursty traffic.
Moreover can such a policing device inherently detect correlation between the information rates of the streams grouped together in such a composite stream. Abstract: To supervise a telephone subscriber line (v'2, v'1) and provide it with adjustable AC and DC termination impedances from the exchange (v1, v2), these are supplied by an impedance synthesis multiple loop split into separate DC and AC loop parts by filters at the output of a sense amplifier in the common loop part and fed (e) through a Herter bridge. The amplifier AC output has however to be limited to avoid saturation by a larger DC signal. It now includes a Miller effect integrator output stage (A2) with a low pass frequency response supplying the DC loop and also feeding back an input stage (A1) so that the latter exhibits a high pass frequency response with a DC free output to drive the AC loop and the consequent ability to supply a larger AC output.

Abstract: Communication system and switching element used therein. To detect and remove partly established paths a path release explorer packet is periodically transmitted from an outside node on established paths and each time it arrives in a node it is checked therein if this node is a dead end for all directions. In the affirmative a path release packet is transmitted to a preceding node to possibly release the path to the dead end node. The switching element used in each node includes a first switching bus (TB, TM) to interconnect input ports (RX1/8) to output ports (TX1/8). One of this output ports (TX9) is connected to a second switching bus (SB) which has access to all input ports.

Abstract: A documents singler which takes documents (4) from a stack and conveys them one by one to a user station via document retaining means (13). It includes a first conveyor belt (5) which has a document driving surface (8) facing the retaining means.
