PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic paper feeding device capable of securely preventing double feed in simple structure having a paper containing part tilted in a device main body even when the number of paper sheets containable in the paper containing part is increased, and a recording device using the same. SOLUTION: In this device, a lever 221 is provided to be protruded into a carrying passage downstream of a separating pad 108 in a paper carrying direction when the separating pad 108 to press the tip of the paper sheets following the paper sheet being carried to separate the paper sheets one by one at a separation position to a paper feeding roller 106 gets apart from the paper feeding roller 106. Double feed of the paper sheets can thus be prevented.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite machine operable as the printer of a PC even in the energy saving mode while minimizing power consumption under energy saving mode and in which such a situation as the energy saving mode does not function substantially while making the best use of the state monitoring function of the PC is avoided. SOLUTION: The composite machine comprises a main CPU 202 for generally controlling the machine, a main power supply 401 for supplying power to the main CPU 202, a sub-CPU 213 for interrupting power supply from the main power supply 401 to the main CPU 202 under specified conditions and recovering power supply upon detecting a cause of releasing power interruption, a PC interface board 407 for informing a print request from a PC 3 as the cause of releasing power interruption to the sub-CPU 213, and a sub-power supply 402 for supplying power to the sub-CPU 213 and the PC interface board 407 independently from the main power supply 401.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs required for a receiving station side device, to simplify the input and output of information with the outside, and to improve adaptability to IP transmission. SOLUTION: In this page space transmission system, page space information prepared by a typesetting work is transmitted from a transmitting station 3 to a remote receiving station 5, and outputted by a film plotter 6 set at the receiving station side so that preparation can be executed. In this case, an input controller 7 at the transmitting station side executes page space information conversion processing to integrate the image information of a plurality of raster image files (TIFF) whose resolution is different constituting one page space into one page space file (PDF) for transmission in universal page description language with the layout information, and a reception controller 13 at the receiving station side executes page space information conversion processing to rasterize the page space file for transmission, and to convert it into a page space file (TIFF 909) for output processable by the film plotter. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication control device and a transmission control method therefore with which transmission can be performed from a general telephone set or facsimile (FAX) equipment through the Internet to the other communication terminal without an operator is feeling of incongruity and without complicated operation. SOLUTION: When the device, to which the communication terminal composed of the FAX equipment and/or telephone set is connected, connected to the Internet detects the off-hook of the connected communication terminal in the case of transmission for performing transmitting/receiving with the other communication terminal, a received signal is converted to the number of a counter party in the exchanging state of a dial tone signal, that number of the counter party and the address of the counter party are converted while referring to a correspondence table and it is determined from the contents whether FAX transmission is to be used or a telephone call is to be originated. Corresponding to the determination, either FAX processing or telephone processing is selectively executed. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal that is configured to surely inform a user about a storage state of messages in a center even when the user fails to receive a regular notice signal. SOLUTION: The communication terminal is provided with a message storage state discrimination section 13 that analyzes a signal coming from a network after the notice signal to discriminate a storage state of messages and the message storage state discrimination section 13 starts discrimination in response to a prescribed operation. As operations to initiate the discrimination especially, application of power, manual dialing and automatic dialing are desirable. When the manual dialing is selected, the communication terminal accepts a dial input in the midst of discrimination in response to the manual dialing and transmits a dial signal having received to a line after the discrimination is finished, and when the automatic dialing is selected, the communication terminal makes the discrimination before transmission of the dial signal to the line. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a recording device which can detect an abnormal state wherein a temperature measurement part of a temperature detecting means of a fixing unit of an electrophotographic recording device leaves the surface of a heat roller to disable proper temperature detection. SOLUTION: A CPU 22 decides the abnormal state according to the variation state of temperature detected by thermistors 13a and 13b as a heater 10 generates heat. Specially, when initial temperature exceeds an upper-limit value, a fan is driven to lower the temperature prior to heating for the decision making. When the initial temperature is lower than a lower-limit value, on the other hand, the abnormal state is decided according to the variation state of the temperature detected by the thermistors as the heat roller rotates successively to the heating by the heater.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device constituted so that a recording paper made ineffective by stopping image forming processing because of the occurrence of a fault that makes the image forming processing unable may not be mixed into normally processed recording papers. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with a reversing path P2 where the recording paper B outgoing from an image forming part 3 is reversed from the front surface to the back surface and fed to the image forming part again so that an image can be formed on both surfaces of the recording paper B, and performs recording paper retreat processing to retreat the recording paper on a paper feeding path P1 linking a recording paper feeding part 5 and the image forming part to the reversing path when the fault to the image forming processing succeeding to paper feeding operation, for example, paper jamming caused in an image carrying part 1 is caused and the image forming processing is stopped after starting the paper feeding operation to carry the recording paper housed in the recording paper feeding part 5 toward the image forming part.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently upgrade a version of a driver having various functions in a printer and a complex machine by a plurality of information terminal units connected via a network. SOLUTION: This complex machine is used in common in the respective information terminal units connected to the network, and is provided with a driver storage part for storing, for example, a printer driver, and a version history table for storing the version of the driver in accordance with the respective information terminal units. When the version of the driver included in printing information indicating printing is older than a corresponding driver of the table, the version is upgraded by using a complex machine side driver. Thus, the version can be automatically upgraded to eliminate, for example, labor for a network controller to prepare and distribute flexible disks for storing a printer driver of the newest version by the number of information terminal units as well as to prevent the occurrence of leakage of version upgrade.
