    Abstract: A force sensing method, applied to a force sensing system comprising a plurality of force sensors and a touch sensing surface, comprising: (a) determining a first location of a first object on the touch sensing surface; (b) defining a first force sensing region according to the first location; and (c) computing a first system sensing force which the first object causes to the touch sensing surface according to the first location, and according to at least one sensor sensing force of a first part of the force sensors corresponding to the first force sensing region. The present invention also discloses a force sensing system which uses the above-mentioned force sensing method, and an efficient force sensor calibration method. Noises can be reduced and power consumption can be decreased, since only sensor sensing forces of force sensors near the object are used for computing the system sensing force.

    Abstract: There is provided an optical navigation device including a substrate, a light sensor, a first light source, a second light source and a light directing member. The light sensor is arranged on the substrate and has a field of view (FOV) perpendicular to the substrate. The emission light of the first light source forms a first illumination light beam after passing the light directing member. The emission light of the second light source forms a second illumination light beam after passing the light directing member.     Abstract: A pressure sensing unit is provided. The pressure sensing unit includes a membrane and a pressure sensing pad group. The membrane has a first surface and a second surface. The pressure sensing pad group includes a first pressure sensing pad, a second pressure sensing pad, and a ground pad that are spaced apart from one another. The ground pad and one among the first pressure sensing pad and the second pressure sensing pad are located at the first surface of the membrane, another one among the first pressure sensing pad and the second pressure sensing pad is located at the second surface of the membrane, and an orthographic projection of the ground pad projected onto a reference plane is located between orthographic projections of the first pressure sensing pad and the second pressure sensing pad that are projected onto the reference plane. Therefore, a signal-to-noise ratio can be increased and an erroneous detection can be prevented.

    Abstract: An object detection system and method includes: an optical image sensor arranged to perform the following steps: capturing a calibration image during a calibration stage, dividing the calibration image into a plurality of quadrants, and calculating a parameter for each of the quadrants; capturing a plurality of raw images during a detection stage, dividing each image of the raw images into a plurality of quadrants, and calculating a parameter for each of the quadrants; comparing the respective parameters of each quadrant of a raw image with the respective parameters of each quadrant of the calibration image to generate a ratio value for each quadrant; and comparing the ratio value of each quadrant with a predetermined threshold. When each ratio value of specific quadrants of the quadrants is greater than the predetermined threshold, object detection is confirmed.

    Abstract: A smoke detector includes a substrate, an optical detection module, a base and a top cover. The substrate has a ring shape region surrounding a central detection region, and a first block structure of the central detection region is protruded from the substrate and higher than an upper surface of the ring shape region. The optical detection module is disposed inside the central detection region. The base is disposed on the substrate and around the optical detection module. The base has a second block structure. The top cover is connected to the base. A lateral wall of the top cover is partly overlapped with the second block structure to form a guiding channel. The optical detection module analyzes variation of scattering parameters resulted from gaseous matter entering the top cover through the guiding channel for determining concentration of the gaseous matter.
