    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for providing a multimedia message converted from a voice message in a mobile communication system is provided to convert the voice message stored in a VMS(Voice Mail System) by a caller into a long message or the multimedia message irrespective of the length of the voice message and send the long message or the multimedia message to a callee through an MMS(Multimedia Message Service). CONSTITUTION: A VMSS(VMS Server) stores a voice message of a caller in a VMS(18)(405). The VMSS judges whether a terminal of a callee supports an MMS(407). If the terminal of the callee supports the MMS, the VMSS requests an STTS(Speech To Text Server)(31) to covert the voice message into a multimedia message corresponding to the voice message(408). The STTS(31) converts the voice message into the multimedia message, and transmits the multimedia message to the VMSS(7)(409). The VMSS transmits the converted multimedia message to an MMSS(MMS Server)(25)(410). The MMSS(25) stores the received multimedia message in an MMSD(MMS Device)(26), and transmits the multimedia message to the terminal of the callee(411).
