Abstract: Embodiments can provide an apparatus for a User Equipment (UE) for processing a Channel State Information Reference signal (CSI-RS) associated with a prescribed CSI-RS resource configuration, comprising CSI-RS resources, relating to a predetermined plurality of antenna ports; the apparatus comprising circuitry to: process data associated with the prescribed CSI-RS resource configuration relating to the predetermined plurality of antenna ports, said CSI-RS resource configuration comprising multiplexing data to provide an indication of the multiplexing of the CSI-RS signal over the CSI-RS resources; process data associated with a CSI-RS signal conveyed using the CSI-RS resources according to the CSI-RS resource configuration to support a channel estimation using the data associated with the CSI-RS signal.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to determine a transport block size (TBS) is disclosed. The UE can determine a number of assigned resource elements (REs) in one or more symbols for a transport block. The UE can determine a reference number of REs per physical resource block (PRB) in the transport block based on a reference number of REs for the transport block corresponding to each PRB and an assigned number of PRBs for the transport block. The UE can determine a TBS for the transport block based at least on the reference number of REs per PRB in the transport block. The UE can encode information in a selected transport block for transmission via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) to a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) in accordance with the TBS determined at the UE.

Abstract: Embodiments of a Generation Node-B (gNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The gNB may map data symbols to resource elements (REs) of virtual resource blocks (VRBs). The gNB may interleave the data symbols, on a per-VRB basis, to spatial layers of a multi-layer multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. The data symbols may be interleaved based on different interleave patterns of VRB indexes for the spatial layers. The gNB may map the interleaved data symbols of the spatial layers to REs of physical resource blocks (PRBs) for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable for quasi-co-location (QCL) is disclosed. The UE can demodulate a synchronization signal (SS) block transmitted by a gNB from a first antenna port, wherein one or more of a Doppler shift, a Doppler spread, an average delay, a delay spread, and spatial receiving parameters are derived from the SS block. The UE can decode a QCL indication that provides an assumption of QCL between a first reference signal of the first antenna port and a second reference signal of a second antenna port. The UE can demodulate the physical channel or the reference signal transmitted by the gNB from the second antenna port, using one or more of the Doppler shift, the Doppler spread, the average delay, the delay spread, and the spatial receiving parameters based on the assumption of QCL.

Abstract: Network devices and systems in 5G and new radio (NR) infrastructures can utilize beam management operations to ensure communications for beam management procedure triggering including beam reporting, even during fall-back mode when the current receive (Rx) beam for downlink (DL) and transmit (Tx) beam for uplink (UL) fail. Additionally, reduction in overhead can be achieved with a reference beam pair link based beam reporting in a fall-back mode or not. Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for supporting a UE in reporting of a selection of an NZP CSI-RS resource to an eNB supporting FD-MIMO communication. Each NZP CSI-RS resource is associated with a unique NZP CRI (or ‘Beam Index’) on a given serving cell. The UE may select an NZP CSI-RS resource for CSI calculation and reporting to the eNB based on processed CSI-RS signals received at an antenna of the UE from the eNB of a serving cell of the UE based on a CSI-RS resource configuration for the UE signaled from the eNB. The UE may report a CRI and a CSI of the selected NZP CSI-RS resource to the eNB of the serving cell of the UE based on a CRI reporting configuration of the UE signaled from the eNB.
