A polyolefin composition comprising, in percent by weight: A) 20-35% of a propylene homopolymer or copolymer with up to 8% of comonomer(s); B) 65-80% of a copolymer of ethylene and (i) propylene or (ii) CH2=CHR alpha- olefins, where R is a 2-8 carbon alkyl radical, or (iii) a combination thereof, optionally with minor amounts of a diene, containing from 40 to less than 54% of ethylene; wherein the weight ratio B/XS of the content B of copolymer component (B) to the fraction XS soluble in xylene at room temperature, both referred to the total weight of (A) + (B), is of 1.25 or less.

Films especially suitable for the packaging of fresh foodstuff, like salad and vegetables, due to their high permeability to oxygen, carbon dioxide and water vapour, are obtained from polyolefin composition comprising (percentage by weight): A) 5 % to 80 % of a butene-1 polymer or polymer composition containing from 0 % to 25 % of one or more comonomers selected from ethylene and alpha-olefÊns different from 1-butene, provided that, when ethylene only is present as comomomer, the amount of ethylene is higher than 4 % and a copolymer fraction (i) containing at least 6.2 % of ethylene is present, said polymer or polymer composition having a content of fraction soluble in xylene at 0°C of from 50 % to 100 % and a Flexural Modulus (measured according to ISO 178) from 15 to 300 MPa; B) 20 % to 95 % of a propylene homopolymer or copolymer having a content of fraction insoluble in xylene at room temperature of 93 % or more.

A masterbatch composition comprising (percent by weight): A) 15%-50% of a polypropylene component having a melt flow rate of from 1 to 250 g/10 min.; and B) 50%-85% of an olefin polymer partially soluble in xylene at room temperature, containing from 60% to 85% by weight of ethylene; said masterbatch composition having (i) a value of the intrinsic viscosity [rl] of the fraction soluble in xylene at room temperature ([rl]SOl) equal to or lower than 2.9 dl/g, and (ii) a value of the ratio MFR / [TI],,,, equal to or lower than 4, is added to polyolefin materials to obtain final compositions suitable for injection molding.

A propylene polymer composition comprising the following components: a) from 50% to 90% by weight of a propylene homopolymer or a propylene copolymer containing up to 5% by mol of derived units of C2-C20 alpha-olefins, having the following features: (i) a polydispersity index PI>3; (ii) melt flow rate (MFR), as measured at 230°C under a load of 2.16 kg, MFR>1 dg/min; and (iii) fraction soluble in xylene at 25°C (XSRT)>1% b) from 5% to 25% by weight a copolymer of ethylene and one or more derived units of C4-C20 alpha-olefins having the following features: (i) content of ethylene derived units higher than 50% by mol and lower than 92% by mol; (ii) intrinsic viscosity (IV) higher than 1.2 dL/g and lower than 6 dL/g; (iii) density ranging from 0.850 to 0.890 g/cm3; and (iv) a crystallinity content, expressed as the enthalpy of fusion, lower than 62 J/g c) from 5% to 25% by weight of a copolymer of propylene and ethylene having the following features: (i) content of propylene derived units higher than 50% by mol and lower than 92% by mol; (ii) intrinsic viscosity (IV) higher than 2 dL/g and lower than 6 dL/g; (iii) density ranging from 0.850 to 0.890 g/cm3; (iv) the value of the product of reactivity ratios rlxr2 lower than 2; and (v) a crystallinity content, expressed as the enthalpy of fusion, lower than 45 J/g wherein the weight ratio between the ethylene copolymer (component b) and the sum of component b) and component c) is equal to or higher than 0.5 and less than or equal to 0.9.
