    Abstract: A transmitting UE in a device-to-device (D2D) communication may identify a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence for a D2D transmission based at least in part on a subset of bits of a sidelink control information (SCI) transmission. The subset of bits of the SCI transmission may be selected such that the bits have sufficient variability to reduce the likelihood that multiple UEs may use the same DMRS sequence. The subset of bits of the SCI transmission may be all or a portion of a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for the SCI.

    Abstract: In one aspect of the disclosure, to improve the performance of device-to-device based relay communication, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for performing rate control based on feedback from participating UEs are provided. The apparatus may be a first UE. The first UE may receive a signal from a second UE through a device-to-device communication channel. The first UE may determine a feedback based on the received signal. The first UE may transmit the feedback to adjust transmission of the signal at the second UE. In another aspect of the disclosure, a first UE may transmit a signal to a second UE through a device-to-device communication channel. The first UE may receive a feedback of the signal. The first UE may adjust transmission of the signal based on the feedback.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may communicate with one or more other UEs using multiple transmissions in a device-to-device (D2D) communications deployment. A number of UEs may be configured with D2D resources, and a transmitting UE may identify available D2D resources from the configured resources. The transmitting UE may identify a resource for a first transmission of a D2D transmission from the available D2D resources, and may identify a second resource for a second transmission of the D2D transmission. The second transmission may be a blind HARQ transmission that may be transmitted to enhance the likelihood that one or more receiving UEs successfully receive the transmission. In some examples, the second resource may be identified based on other available resources within an predetermined time window around the first transmission.

The apparatus may be a User Equipment, UE. The UE determines a channel busy ratio (CBR). The UE further determines one or more channel resource utilization limits based on the CBR, wherein each channel resource utilization limit of the one or more channel resource utilization limits corresponds to a respective packet priority. The UE controls transmission of a plurality of packets based on the one or more channel resource utilization limits, each packet of the plurality of packets being associated with a respective packet priority.
