    Abstract: Techniques for supporting operation with enhanced uplink in inactive state are described. A user equipment (UE) may send an access preamble for random access while in an inactive state and may receive a message containing resources allocated to the UE. The allocated resources may be selected by a Node B from a pool of resources pre-allocated to the Node B for the enhanced uplink. The UE may send information (e.g., scheduling information and/or its UE identity) to the Node B using the allocated resources. The UE may receive an acknowledgement addressed to the UE based on the UE identity. The UE may remain in the inactive state and continue to use the allocated resources until they are de-allocated. Alternatively, the UE may transition to an active state and either continue to use the allocated resources or receive an allocation of new resources for the active state.

    Abstract: A method an apparatus and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in connection with enabling communication of small data amounts while maintaining a RRC idle mode of operation for a UE. In an example a UE is equipped to obtain a temporary radio bearer for communication of data that meets one or more criteria for small data transmission over a user plane in a UMTS or LTE based network and transmit the data over the user plane using the temporary radio bearer while maintaining the UE in an RRC idle mode. A UTRAN entity may receive over the temporary radio bearer assignment the data from a UE in an idle mode and send the data to a SGSN using a common small data connection. The SGSN may then send the data to a PGW.

    Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate common data channel resource usage report for receiving additional channel resources in a wireless network. An access point can initially receive a set of channel resources from a network controller for providing wireless network access to one or more devices. The access point can grant and/or deny requests for one or more of the channel resources from a plurality of devices and can feedback information to the network controller regarding the granting/denying. The network controller can determine a load on the access point based at least in part on the feedback information and adjust channel resource allocation based on the load. Thus/ where an access point has granted resources close to capacity to one or more devices, the network controller can provide additional resources to the access point based on received feedback information related to the granted resources.

    Abstract: Initiating and operating a high speed dedicated physical control channel, HS-DPCCH, to report a current channel quality indicator, CQI. A user equipment, UE, may receive a high speed sharedcontrol channel, HS-SCCH, order from a Node B triggering a feedback response (i.e. a feedback regarding CQI and/or ACK/NACK on the HS-DPCCH channel).     Abstract: A method of communicating speech comprising time-warping a residual low band speech signal to an expanded or compressed version of the residual low band speech signal, time-warping a high band speech signal to an expanded or compressed version of the high band speech signal, and merging the time-warped low band and high band speech signals to give an entire time-warped speech signal. In the low band, the residual low band speech signal is synthesized after time-warping of the residual low band signal while in the high band, an unwarped high band signal is synthesized before time-warping of the high band speech signal. The method may further comprise classifying speech segments and encoding the speech segments. The encoding of the speech segments may be one of code-excited linear prediction, noise-excited linear prediction or ⅛ frame (silence) coding.
