    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the exactness of reel lock by twisting a link part by pressing one lock part, turning a lock part, moving the other lock part and rotating another tape reel in a direction increasing the tension of a tape. CONSTITUTION:A lock pawl 19a is moved in an arrow E direction by force F applied onto a lock arm 19, and a lock part 13 is turned in a counter-closwise direction by the torsion of a link part 14. With this turn, another lock arm 19' receives turning force in the counter-clockwise direction and therefore, a lock pawl 19'a is pressed to a gear 8' of a lower flange 7' on a T reel side. Then, a lower flange 7 further receives rotational force in an arrow B' direction. In such a way, since force in the direction increasing the tape tension is applied onto a magnetic tape 5 can be prevented from being unfastened. Thus, the suitable tension is applied onto the tape at all times and the reel lock is enabled without fail.

CONSTITUTION:In the case of transmitting a video signal of a studio standard by an MUSE(multiple sub-Nyquist sampling encoder) system, a video part allocated to a specific line is eliminated in a demodulated video signal. Therefore, by detecting the eliminated part of the video signal of the line, the kind of an input signal SE can be discriminated. Accordingly, by generating a video part discriminating pulse PSE, based on a horizontal synchronizing signal SH from a pulse generating circuit 10, and taking OR to a line discriminating signal SL, whether the video signal of the specific line exists or not is detected. In such a way, the video signal transmitted by the studio standard and the MUSE system is discriminated, and the video signal can be displayed surely.

A tracking error is detected based m on a level of a beat signal of frequencies (1/2fh and 3/2fh) between a pilot signal of an object track and a pilot signal from both adjacent tracks at the reproduction side, the capstan servo system or the piezoelectric element of a moving head is controlled by the error to apply tracking control. Thus, the S/N of the heat signal is improved.

This means that the magnetic head H1a acts only for a period in which it rotates for a rotary angle of 270 deg.+alpha+beta during one cycle. During the time other than this acting period, the signal transmission coil L1a is short-circuited, and the rotary erasing head Hfe is activated only within the nonacting period of the magnetic head H1a. As a result, the signal transmission coil Lfe for erasing and the signal transmission coil L1a can be disposed adjoining each other without a short ring.
