Abstract:
Single and multiple porous media impingement type air filter elements are disposed in filter housings which provide access to the filter elements from top opening doors or plenums in the housing for service or repair of the elements. Housing sections defining the plenums are provided with mechanism to lift and swing the housing sections clear of the filter opening, and the housing sections are movable to relieve excess working pressure differentials across the filter element. In two embodiments the filter elements are each in sealing engagement with a shield which is also sealingly engaged with a top wall or door of the filter housing to minimize contamination of personnel servicing or replacing the filter elements. Clean air is discharged through a downwardly extending clean air flow tube into a discharge plenum or chamber and particulate material separated from the air flow stream falls into a material collecting hopper portion which may be defined in part by a sloping wall separating the clean air flow chamber from the particulate material collection chamber. Filter element backflushing air control valves may be located in the bottom of the filter housing to enhance the accessibility of the filter elements from the top of the housing and to minimize overall height of the filter apparatus.
Abstract:
A filtering device for fluids includes a filter housing (1) and a filter element (9) received in the filter housing. The filter element has an end cap (17) on at least one end. The end cap forms an enclosure for the corresponding end edge of the filtering material (23, 35) and is fixed on an element receiver (13) interacting with the bottom part (5) of the filter housing (1) to fix the position of the filter element (9) in its functional position. The element receiver forms a fluid path for the cleaned fluid exiting the hollow chamber (19) of the filter element (9). The element receiver (13) contains a valve arrangement (55) blocking the fluid path (35). A control device (79, 83) releasing the valve arrangement (55) in the functional position is on the end cap (17) of the filtering element (9). The end cap is fixed on the element receiver (13).
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a filter housing with a removable filter assembly having an elongated shell assembly, a removable head assembly, and a removable filter assembly. The shell assembly has an inlet section, an outlet section, and a filter assembly opening. The removable filter cartridge includes a top tube sheet, a bottom tube sheet and a plurality of filter cartridges. The filter cartridges provide the only fluid passage through the bottom tube sheet, which otherwise sealing engages a ring assembly within the shell assembly proximate to the outlet section.
Abstract:
According to the present disclosure, air cleaner assemblies, components, features and methods are described. A filter cartridge is characterized, that can be conveniently used as part of the system ensuring that a proper cartridge is installed in the housing, in a proper radial orientation and in a manner such that cartridge rotation is inhibited, in spite of the use of a radial seal. The cartridge can be configured to also be used with a housing that includes a utility conduit in an exterior surface thereof. Advantageous features and methods of assembly and use are described.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge assembly includes a fitting with a lid and a throat. The lid includes a handle and spring. The handle is configured to receive torque and linear force and translate these forces to the lid. The spring has a first and second catch disposed opposite ends. The spring is configured to mate with and fully reside within a lid groove in response to the first catch being drawn towards the second catch. The spring is configured to partially extend annularly outwardly from the lid groove in response to the first catch and the second catch being allowed to return to a biased position. The throat receives the lid and a throat groove disposed about the throat is configured to receive the extended portion of the spring partially extending from the lid groove. The lid is captured in response to the spring mating with the throat groove.
Abstract:
A filter includes filter media and a housing surrounding the media. The housing has an outlet and is sealed such that all fluid flow out of the outlet must first enter the cartridge and pass through the media. The housing has multiple inlet flow paths configured so that fluid impinging on the housing is diffused as it enters the cartridge and is prevented from flowing directly towards the filter media.
Abstract:
A fluid filter assembly having a relief valve for visually indicating when a filter element may be replaced. The fluid filter assembly of the present invention provides a vertical, transparent housing having a fluid inlet for communicating a fluid into the housing and a fluid outlet for communicating fluid downstream of the housing. A filter element is disposed within the housing between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet for filtering the fluid.

Abstract:
A fluid filter assembly having a relief valve for visually indicating [the life of] when a filter element may be replaced. The fluid filter assembly of the present invention provides a vertical, transparent housing having a fluid inlet for communicating a fluid into the housing and a fluid outlet for communicating fluid downstream of said housing. A filter element is disposed within the housing between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet for filtering the fluid. In [the preferred] a first embodiment, a [frusto-conical] divider is connected to the top of the filter element and extends downward adjacent a bottom portion of the filter element wherein the fluid from the inlet rises between the filter element and the inside of the divider and between the outside of the divider and an inside surface of the housing. A relief valve is provided in the top of the filter element and is in communication with the unfiltered and filtered side of the filter element. The relief valve opens at a predetermined pressure level across the filter element thereby raising the fluid level and providing a practical [visual] indicator that the filter element may be replaced [needs replacement].
