This invention relates to a tire processing apparatus for processing large used tires as are found from industrial mining applications. The present invention relates particularly to a tire processing apparatus comprising a head that is operable to move about two or more axes at a first end of a swing arm, the head further having a rasp operable to strip rubber particles from a stationary tire for use of the particles as a landscaping mulch. In various embodiments, the apparatus also comprises a head with a circular saw operable to cut a portion of the tire into a livestock trough. The invention also includes a method using the above. The system and method in its various embodiments are particularly adept at processing used tires from mining industry applications.

A chopping-grinding mill for used objects and other waste materials, in particular for motor vehicle tyres, comprises, in a single, compact work unit, a base (1), whereon a vertical-axis rotor (2) is rotatably mounted, said rotor (2) having the shape of a disc carrying a plurality of cutting blades (5, 6) fixed to the uppers surface thereof, to said rotor (2) a coaxial stator (3) being associated, in turn in the shape of a disc carrying a plurality of cutting blades (11, 12) fixed to the lower surface thereof, said stator (3) being mounted in a fixed position above the rotor (2) and at an adjustable distance therefrom, so as to define therewith a grinding chamber. Primary cutting blades (5, 11) extend from the centre to the periphery of said rotor (2) and stator (3) and secondary cutting blades (6, 12) extend only in correspondence of a peripheral crown of the rotor (2) and of the stator (3), while a feeding window (10) of the material to be ground is provided in the stator (3), in the area inside to said peripheral crown. The invention also comprises an automatic feeder for the controlled feeding of the material to be ground to said feeding window (10).

Изобретение относится к переработке промышленных отходов и может быть использовано при изготовлении бронекамер для измельче- ния изношенных покрышек с применением взрывчатых материалов. Технической задачей изобретения является снижение давления ударной волны при действии на внутреннюю поверхность корпуса бро- некамеры в осевом направлении. Abstract:
A process of producing powder rubber having a particle size in the range of between about 50 microns and 180 microns is described. The process removes metal, fiber and other foreign materials from ground used tire rubber particles. The processed used tire rubber particles are embrittled by contact with a cryogenic liquid. The embrittled rubber particles are milled in a conical mill. The comminuted rubber particles exit the conical mill at a temperature in the range of between -15 degrees C and -30 degrees C. The powder rubber produced can vulcanize as easily or even more easily than virgin rubber.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for recycling waste rubber products, in particular worn-out car tyres. The inventive method consists in exposing worn-out car tyres to heat treatment in the melt of petroleum products and/or refinery waste until swelling, in transferring said materials to a separator through an inclined feeder and in disintegrating the tyres into rubber-containing material and metal cord fragments. Said invention makes it possible to carry out a continuous process and to increase the performance of the recycling method.

A system and method for cooling a material with liquefied fuel gas where liquefied gas and the material to be cryogenically cooled are brought into direct or indirect contact and cooled material and a combination of liquefied gas and vaporized gas are removed. Cooling may also employ an intermediate cooling medium such as a refrigerant or nitrogen. In the case of converting rubber in tires (131) to rubber crumb (145), cooling of the products of a hammer mill (135) and a fine grind mill (142) by nitrogen subsequent to the cooling of nitrogen by a refrigerant and the refrigerant by liquefied gas converts shredded tires (131) into recyclable rubber crumb (148). Liquefied gas may also be used to cool electrical conductors. The vaporized gas, in either application, is then distributed to customers.

The present invention relates to a process for producing a rubber powder from a vulcanized rubber material. The process comprises the steps of: a) feeding an extruder with the vulcanized rubber material, the extruder comprising a barrel and at least one screw rotatably mounted into said barrel; b) contacting the vulcanized rubber material with the coolant; c) operating the extruder so as to grind the vulcanized rubber material to form a rubber powder, and d) discharging the rubber powder from the extruder. Preferably, the process comprises the step of introducing into the extruder a grinding aid additive.

The invention relates to a roll-type crusher comprising counterrotating crushing rolls (13, 14), mounted in a housing, that consist of a plurality of adjacent crushing disks (13a, 14a) that have different diameters (24, 25). Said crushing disks are disks (13a) with a fine corrugation (18) and disks (14a) with a coarse corrugation (17). The crushing disks (13a) with the fine corrugation (18) have a smaller diameter than the crushing disks (14a) with the coarse corrugation (17).

The invention relates to a method for comminuting elastomers, especially tires, by compressing the material in an all-over manner and by subsequently carrying out an oblique cutting that involves the use of a revolving cutting edge and by simultaneously comminuting the cutting face on a flank of the blade. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out said method. The device comprises a cylindrical cutting tool (2) with threaded cutting edges, which diametrically wind from both outer edges of the cylinder (2) up to the middle of the cylinder. The device also comprises an advancing means (3), thrust bearings (10, 11) assigned to the cutting tool (2) and to the advancing means (3), and optionally comprises a holding device (6).
