Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the treatment of a sulphide-containing spent caustic by chemical reaction of the sulphides, wherein the process comprises the following steps: introducing the spent caustic into a reaction chamber (18) which comprises at least one acoustic power transducer (22) and a cavitation element (20); treating the spent caustic with ultrasound from the at least one acoustic power transducer (22), feeding an ozone-containing gas mixture into the reaction chamber and distributing the ozone-containing gas mixture in the spent caustic, using the cavitation element (20); wherein the sulphide-containing spent caustic is reacted with the ozone-containing gas mixture, forming non-sulphidic inorganic sulphur compounds.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for producing on water. In particular, the apparatus for producing ion water may have a simplified structure to prevent water from being lost and also prevent an electrode and ion diaphragm from being damaged. In addition, the apparatus for producing ion water may selectively supply alkaline water and acidic water as necessary. The apparatus for producing ion water include an ionized electrolytic cell configured to contact raw water only with one electrode part disposed on one or more inner walls of the ionized electrolytic cell to contact the raw water only with one electrode of the anode and cathode, an ion water control part for controlling the ionized electrode part according to the discharge of the ion water, and a manipulation part for inputting a manipulation signal from a user to the ion water control part. Thus, in the apparatus for producing ion water, the ion water may be produced using one electrolytic ell to minimize the loss of the raw water. Also, since the user may selectively use the ion water as necessary, the functionality thereof may be improved.
Abstract:
Periphyton filtration is a known method for performing bioremediation of polluted water. The present system (10) improves upon this method by adding a strong oxidizer, such as ozone from an ozone generator (18) to the influent, and in some cases to the effluent to make organically bound nutrients available to a target culture in a periphyton bed (24) or to aquatic plants to reduce the population of undesirable microinvertebrates and to make organically bound nutrients available to the periphyton. A pesticide (P) may be added to control insect populations.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an ozonization apparatus which is not only capable of dissolving ozone in material water with high efficiency and speedily but also enables the easy and proper control of the dissolved ozone concentration of ozone water. The present invention relates to an ozonization apparatus comprising an ozone gas-permeable membrane disposed to isolate material water and ozone gas from each other and allow said ozone gas to be dissolved in said material water by permeation, said ozone gas-permeable membrane being a nonporous hollow tube which is selectively gas-permeable and liquid-impermeable.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
Wastewater is remanufactured with ozone in a series of mixing vessels. The ozone is dispersed to both a top and a bottom portion of each mixing vessel, but in different amounts. This creates an electrical potential difference across the height of each mixing vessel which significantly improves the oxidation of organic carbon-based impurities and eliminates H2S and bacteria. Sludge and solids floating to the top of each mixing vessels are removed, as well as sludge and solids settling to the bottom of the mixing vessels. When oil and gas well wastewater is treated in this manner, the resulting treated water is purified and has a high salt content suitable for oil or gas well injection.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus of sanitizing drinking water to be dispensed from a water dispenser having a reservoir includes the steps of providing the ozone gas generator that generates an ozone gas stream, transmitting the ozone gas stream from the generator to the water dispenser reservoir, mechanically breaking up the ozone gas stream inside the reservoir to produce ozone gas bubbles, and using the ozone gas bubbles to disinfect water in the reservoir. The ozone gas stream can be mechanically broken up using a pump such as, for example, an impeller type pump.
Abstract:
A system for and method of sanitizing water and waterway surfaces using ozone gas is disclosed wherein water is circulated from a water reservoir in a water ozonation loop means. Ozone is generated by an ozone generator and dispensed into the circulating water by an ozone feed means. In some embodiments the ozone is generated from gas in the water reservoir and dispensed into the water ozonation loop means at a venturi tube. A controller is provided for activating an ozonation cycle. In some embodiments, the ozonation cycle includes the actuation of a circulating water pump for a cycle interval, and the actuation of an ozone generator during an ozone generation interval, which is less than the cycle interval.
