Abstract:
A protective textile sleeve for providing protection to an elongate member contained therein; a method of construction thereof, and a method of bonding at least a portion of the sleeve to at least one of itself and an elongate member extending through a cavity thereof is provided. The sleeve has a wall of interlaced yam, with the wall having an outermost surface and an innermost surface. The innermost surface is configured to bound a cavity extending between opposite open ends. The sleeve further includes an adhesive coating bonded to at least a portion of at least one of the outermost and innermost surfaces. The adhesive coating has a first, dried non-adhesive state and a second, wetted adhesive state, wherein the second adhesive state is activated via application of a water-based liquid thereto.
Abstract:
Methods for applying a liner-free, or liner-less label, to a substrate, particularly glass or plastic (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate) substrates, are described herein. The method includes applying an adhesive composition, such as a polymeric coating, to a label face sheet, activating the adhesive composition with an activating fluid, and contacting the label to the substrate. The activating fluid is preferably a mixture of water and one or more organic solvents, such as low molecular weight alcohols.
Abstract:
A corner bead for wallboard applications comprising a polymeric core having a bonding surface for bonding to wallboard wherein the bonding surface has applied thereto a water activated adhesive which is bonded to the polymeric core by a curable adhesive having embedded therein fibers which are also embedded in the water activated adhesive.
Abstract:
A method for recycling materials having an affixed label is disclosed. The present invention also includes labels and adhesives that is readily removable from a material during a process for recycling the material.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Labels, labeled containers and method of labeling a container wherein the label comprises a pre-applied adhesive that is reactivated with moistenable.
Abstract:
This invention relates to labels. In one embodiment, the labels comprise (A) a polymer film comprising a styrenic polymer, said film having an upper surface and a lower surface, and an MVTR of from about 15 to about 150 g/m2/day, and (B) a water-based adhesive in contact with the lower surface of the film. These labels can be bonded to substrates of glass, plastic or metal using the water based adhesive.

Abstract:
The invention relates to labels and a process for ecologically-sound labelling of plastic containers, in particular those consisting of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) or polycarbonate (PC). The label comprises a single or multilayered plastic film (1) which is insoluble in water and is coated on its adhesive side (4) fully or partially with a dry layer of an adhesive from the group of polyvinyl alcohols, polyvinyl acetates or one other soluble adhesive based on starch, cellulose, glucose and/or dextrin. The adhesive coating (2) can be activated before pressing on the label by moistening with water; after the adhesive coating has dried the label can be removed from the outside of the container, leaving practically no residue.
