Abstract:
Disclosed are grease compositions containing a liquid fluorinated polymer and a thickening agent containing hexagonal lattice boron nitride powder having a bimodal particle size distribution as well as grease compositions containing a liquid fluorinated polymer and a thickening agent containing hexagonal lattice boron nitride powder and a solid fluorinated polymer.
Abstract:
An improved lubricating oil composition comprising a major amount of oil of lubricating viscosity; a minor amount by weight of solid particles effective to improve the lubricating properties of the composition; and a minor amount by weight of at least one of certain co-polymers derived from the polymerization of (1) an N-vinyl-pyrrolidone, and (2) an oil-soluble acrylic ester.
Abstract:
A lubricating composition contains a base oil and an organomolybdenum compound and has a sodium content of not greater than 200 ppm. The limited content of a sodium metal allows the organomolybdenum compound to fully exhibit its peculiar physical performance in that composition. Sufficient friction reduction can be achieved when the lubricating composition is applied as a lubricant composition. Excellent frictional and wearing properties are attainable when the lubricating composition is used as a grease composition.
Abstract:
The present invention provides lubricating grease which is excellent in durability at a high temperature, restrains a reaction from occurring between fluorine and steel, and has a long life; and a rolling bearing in which the lubricating grease is enclosed. The lubricating grease contains perfluoro polyether oil as a base oil thereof and fluorocarbon resin powder as a thickener thereof. The lubricating grease further contains an additive containing a substance capable of forming a film on a metal surface. The substance is a diurea compound having an -NH-bond in a molecular structure thereof, an organic-acidmetal salt such as sodium sebacate, molybdate such as potassium molybdate or sodium molybdate, or a bismuth-containing compound such as bismuth sulfate. The rolling bearing has an inner ring and an outer ring disposed concentrically with each other, a plurality of rolling elements interposed between the inner ring and the outer ring, and a retainer dividedly holding the rolling elements. The lubricating grease is enclosed on the periphery of the rolling elements.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to improved gel/grease compositions as well as grease compositions capable of imparting improved corrosion resistance. The grease includes a silica/silicate mixture that can impart a relatively high pH and corrosion resistant properties to the grease.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to temporary corrosion resistant coatings and films upon metal substrates, e.g., metal tools and dies. The temporary coatings and films will not adversely chemically alter the surface of the underlying substrate. The coatings/films comprise a mixture of at least one of an acrylic, water, an oil, silica, at least one silicate, surfactants and optionally one or more buffering materials and waxes.
Abstract:
Alkaline diamine track lubricants for use with glass, aluminum and two-piece PET containers and other articles of manufacture are prepared from an admixture of an alkyl diamine and a water-soluble hydrotrope. The diamine lubricants are prepared without the neutralization thereof and have a corrosion inhibitor which is, preferably, a reducing agent and a biocide incorporated thereinto. A source of alkalinity may be employed, as well, to maintain the pH above 8.
Abstract:
A fibrous grease comprising a base oil and a fibrous diurea thickener comprising the reaction product of toluene diisocyanate, a fatty aliphatic amine and an alkylphenyl amine.
