Abstract:
Abstract:
A door has a door leaf (10) which may be moved overhead between an open and closed position and which is connected by means of a traction cable system to a weight-balancing device, driving motor or another similar power source. The traction cable system has at least one cable unit (21) secured at one end to the door leaf and fixed at the other end. In order to dispense with catching means and ensure a longer service life, at least one of the cable units (21) has two cables (21', 21'') loaded approximately in parallel and combined by their associated ends each to a building element. At least one of said building elements is designed as a cable tension compensating device.
Abstract:
The counterweight means (50; 50') for a motor or manually-operated sectional gate has a traction mechanism (51; 51') which engages, preferably at the bottom, at one end on a closing member, and at the other end indirectly or directly on an energy accumulator or on a mechanical drive such as a counterweight in such a manner that it is possible to insert the lower closing member (5A) into the horizontal section (7B). The counterweight means (50') also has coupling means such that the traction mechanism (51') engages at one end on a driving part (71) and at the other end indirectly or directly on the energy accumulator or the mechanical drive. A driver (74) which can be automatically disengaged from the driving part (71) when a closing member is not completely open and can be re-engaged therewith during closing is fastened to the closing member. Alternatively, the counterweight means (50) has a deflection pulley (54) for the traction mechanism (51), which pulley is arranged to be stationary close to the upper end of the curved section (7C) and substantially below the horizontal section (7B), with the result that the counterweight means (50) exerts a traction force acting substantially horizontally on the lower closing member (5A) which is substantially in the closed position and a traction force acting substantially vertically by means of the traction mechanism (51) on the lower closing member (5A) which is substantially in the closed position.
Abstract:
A door has a door leaf (10) which can be moved overhead between a closed and an open position and a weight-balancing device connected at one end to the door leaf and fixed at the other end. The weight-balancing device has one or several helical spring units space-savingly designed in such a way that the helical spring unit or units (16) are made of at least two driven helical springs loaded in parallel, of which the inner one has a helix with an outer diameter which is smaller than the inner diameter of the helix of the outer spring. The helical springs are coaxially arranged or nested one inside the other. Seen in the same longitudinal axial direction, one spring is wound clockwise and the adjacent spring is wound anti-clockwise, so that the helices of adjacent springs cross each other.
Abstract:
The invention relates to and provides a door (3), for instance a garage door, which has the feature that it comprises at least two panels (6-8) lying one above the other, namely a first panel (7) and a second panel (6); that on each side of the second panel (6) a member support (9) is arranged which carries an endless member (10), and that the first panel (7) is coupled to the endless member (10). The door hereby occupies little space in the opened position. Because the panels lie one above the other in their stowed position, a door does not have to extend inward over a great length from the door opening into the area to be closed off, for example the garage.
Abstract:
Roll-up door comprising two door-leaves (4) arranged to be wound onto and off a common roll-up roller (14). The door-leaves (4) are kept spaced apart by a roller (16) and a rigid profile member (6) at the lower ends of the doorleaves where the latter are interconnected. The rigid member (6) is guided by carriages (8) which are rotatably mounted atthe member ends and travel in U-beams (10). Belts (22) are secured to the carriages (8) and are carried about a number of pulleys (24,26,28,30,34) and are wound onto and off discs (36) which are mounted on the same shaft (38) asthe roller (14) onto which the door-leaves (4) are wound on and off, whereby the door-leaves (4) will be maintained tensioned and their weight balanced.
Abstract:
A balance shoe for a block and tackle window balance system includes an enlarged head portion housing a locking system configured to receive at least a portion of a pivot bar and releasably engage a jamb track. An elongate tail portion configured to couple at least partially within a U-shaped channel of the window balance system. A front face, the front face of the elongate tail portion being adjacent to a base wall of the U-shaped channel when the elongate tail portion is coupled therein. The front face including an elongate channel configured to allow passage of the pivot bar from the elongate tail portion towards the locking system. The balance shoe also including at least one protrusion extending from the front face of the elongate tail portion and disposed at least partially within the elongate channel.
Abstract:
Disclosed are apparatus for a snap lock balance shoe and system to be incorporated in pivotable double hung windows. In one embodiment, the snap lock balance shoe includes a pair of retractable tabs that partially extend through openings within an inverted window balance.
