Abstract:
A connector or a connector assembly comprises a fitting, a resilient sealing member, a plurality of protrusions, and a removable stripout layer. The fitting includes a socket. The protrusions extend from the fitting and are connectable to a mating connector. The resilient sealing layer, which is disposed in the socket of the fitting, includes a hollow body having opposite open ends and an internal passage extending between the open ends. The removable stripout layer is movable between a first position in which the stripout layer overlies an end of the resilient sealing member and a second position in which the stripout layer is removed from the end of the resilient sealing member.
Abstract:
In a hose assembly useful in the transport of hot fluids, a hose body is provided and includes a generally cylindrical flexible core defining a smooth bore through which the hot fluid will flow. A braided wire sleeve is coaxial with and engages a peripheral surface of the core, and is encapsulated by an outer insulating jacket. Fittings are attached at each end of the hose assembly to facilitate connection thereof to equipment, to or from which the hot fluid is to be transported.

Abstract:
A thermoformed PVC, modified PVC, CPVC, metal or coated metal cover, covering system and method is provided for covering assemblies of pipe and pipe insulation, hangers, support rods and mechanical assemblies wherein the assembly is biocide treated, covered by and completely enclosed by the cover, the cover is sealed in order to prevent bacteria growth within the cover while allowing a smooth outside surface for biocide application. The cover can be modified to facilitate the application of biocide after the assembly is covered by providing resealable openings in said cover.
Abstract:
An aseptic or sanitary pipe or tube fitting including a first ferrule having an outer radial surface, a counterbore and an inner annular surface, and a second ferrule having an inner radial surface, an outer radial surface and an outer annular surface matingly engaging the inner annular surface and inner radial surface of the first ferrule, a recess in the outer radial surface and an O-ring forced into the recess by the inner radial surface of the first ferrule.
Abstract:
A pulsation dampener or desurger for use in sterile or other high-temperature applications such as food- or pharmaceutical-processing plants has an outer case surrounding a concentric perforated mandrel. Flanges or other connectors provide for attachment to a piping system so that product flows through the mandrel. Enclosing the mandrel is a liner of polytetrafluoroethylene or other fluoropolymer; the liner in turn is enclosed by a resilient sheath which may be integral with the liner. Between the liner and the mandrel is a pressure chamber which fluctuates in volume responsive to surges in line pressure, dampening the amplitude of the surges. Expansion of liner and sheath is limited by pressure within a gas chamber in the region between sheath and case.
Abstract:
A kink-resistant, small bend radius hose has a thin layer polyfluorocarbon liner tube with a thickness in the range of from about 0.005 inches to about 0.025 inches. The exterior of the liner tube is etched to allow silicone to be bonded thereto. A thin layer of silicone is bonded to the etched exterior of the liner tube. This layer of silicone serves as a bonding layer for a reinforcing layer of synthetic fabric, a helix strand and a cover layer. The reinforcing layer serves to strengthen the thin liner tube, the helix strand serves to support the hose against kinking and the cover layer adds additional strength and contains the helix strand with respect to the reinforcing fabric. Thus, a composite, integral, kink-resistant, small bend radius hose is achieved.
Abstract:
A connector means for conveying fluid from a supply source to a delivery location, said connectors having one conduit extending to the supply source and another conduit extending to the delivery location. Each terminal part has a cylindrical housing with a closed end to which the conduit is joined, and having an opposite operable end which is closed by a penetrable barrier. The barrier and closed end of the housing define an interior environment safe from external contaminants. A male tubular coupler is in one housing, a female tubular coupler is in the other housing, and a penetrator element is disposed around one of the tubular connectors. The penetrable barriers have a film of covered adhesive. The exposed adhesive films are placed in face to face contact to coaxially align the housing parts and bond the barrier membranes to exclude the environment. The penetrator element pierces the adhering barriers by either moving the penetrator element from one housing into the coaxially aligned housing, or by telescoping the housing cylinders so that the adhering barriers are contacted by the fixed penetrator element. The male tubular connector then engages the female tubular connector within a protected environment to effect connection between the supply source and the delivery location.

Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a repeatable, aseptic fluid coupling system. Such repeatable, aseptic fluid coupling systems are configured to facilitate multiple connection and disconnection cycles while repeatably establishing a sterile fluid pathway through the coupling system. The repeatable, aseptic fluid coupling systems can repeatably establish a sterile fluid pathway through the coupling system even though the coupling system may be used in a non-sterile environment.

Embodiments of this disclosure include male and female connector parts for connecting elements of a fluid delivery device, the male and/or female elements having one or more resilient, flexible guards that can be moved laterally to avoid interference with coupling the male and female parts. Such connectors can be used to connect tubing, syringes, respirators, and other devices for fluid transport. Such connectors can decrease the likelihood of
