Abstract:
A tube plug seal has an improved tear line pattern which tears when a mating tube having a circumference smaller than the seal is inserted through the seal. The improved tear line pattern is designed to initially tear where the circumference of the mating tube applies the highest stress. As a result, the improved tear line includes a portion which extends at least partially circumferentially about an axial center point of the seal. More specifically, the circumferential portion of the improved tear line pattern generally aligns with a circumference of the mating tube. In one embodiment the improved tear line pattern is C-shaped.
Abstract:
A dust cap for a fluid coupling includes a generally cylindrical body which is mounted on the coupling and an end wall at one end of the cylindrical body. The end wall is provided with a slit therein for permitting another coupling to be inserted through the end wall and a stress relief opening at each end of the slit. A flexible and resilient flap covers each of the stress relief openings, and a fluid drain port is provided in the cylindrical body.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust cap prevented from slipping out due to unprepared handling, having no influence on the action of a checker and not detected even if mounted in a quick connector comprising the checker. SOLUTION: The dust cap comprises a sealing part 17 for protecting O-rings 16, 16 arranged in a quick connector body 11, fixing members 15a, 15b for engaging the quick connector body 11, and a grip part 38 which are integrally formed, and the dust cap is not detected by the checker 12 even if mounted. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover structure for a pipe joint for reliably sealing the opening of a pipe joint when mounting a partitioning cover on the pipe joint as a biting joint while suppressing the deformation of a sleeve, and to provide a partitioning cover to be used for the cover structure, a refrigerating device using the cover structure, and a pipe connecting method. SOLUTION: When mounted on the pipe joint 1, the partitioning cover 2 is held between a joint body 11 and a nut 12 by screwing the nut 12 into the joint body 11. At this time, the partitioning cover 2 is supported not to thrust the sleeve 13.
