Abstract:
A remote control device for a home theater has a macro creation/editing mode with authoring tools on the remote's GUI. One of the editing tools lets the user move a selected macro step visibly up or down the list of steps on the GUI.
Abstract:
A method and system for generating a program guide for a home network having at least one multi-media device connected thereto is provided. According to the method, multi-media material associated with a first home device is identified. An HTML page is generated, based on the identified multi-media material associated with the first home device. The HTML page is stored in an accessible area on the first home device. A second home device, which is browser based, may be connected to the home network to receive the HTML page and to render the HTML page, for display to a user.
Abstract:
The universal remote control (10) comprises a light emitting device (LED 1, LED 2, LED 3); electrical circuitry (42) including: a CPU (56); structure for communicating code generation sequences to the CPU (56); driver circuitry coupled between the CPU (56) and the light emitting device (LED 1, LED 2, LED 3, and LED 4); a memory device (54) for storing information therein coupled to the CPU (56); program instructions stored in the memory device (54); function code data for generating light on-light off codes for causing a controlled apparatus to perform a specific function stored in the memory device (54); and, structure associated with the memory device (54) and the CPU (56) for determining when a "code generate command" sequence has been received and for using the sequence provided for creating a specific light on-light off code to cause a controlled apparatus to execute a specific function, and for energizing the driver circuitry to cause the light emitting device (LED 1, LED 2, LED 3) to emit the specific light on-light off code.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for configuring and managing a plurality of system components.SOLUTION: Activity-based or experienced-based operations are created and defined during an initialization or setup session for one or more system components, with minimum or no user interaction. The system components include legacy and/or non-legacy devices, which are configured and managed within a controlled environment, such as a home or business peer-to-peer or client-server network. During an initialization or setup session, relevant device information and device metadata are collected via a conventional or discovery protocol interface. For a legacy device that is not automatically discoverable, a user adds the legacy device to the controlled environment by inputting the device information.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein the present remote controller has a weak point incapable of controlling two separated devices at the same time. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a remote control apparatus, a system and a method thereof. A remote controller of the invention includes: an RF antenna for transmitting an RF signal to a first device; an IR transmission part for transmitting an IR signal to a second device; a user input part for receiving an input instruction from a user; and a control part which confirms whether the input instruction is received, and, when the input instruction is received, controls the RF antenna to transmit the RF signal to the first device and controls the IR transmission part to transmit the IR signal to the second device. Thereby, a plurality of devices can be controlled at the same time by the single remote controller. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and intuitively use a device for controlling many home automation elements. SOLUTION: The method for operating a home automation system provided with a controller for controlling a home automation equipment item and comprising a display and control screen the part of which is assigned to the display of a first graphic representation associated with the equipment item and separate from a specific control means includes a step for setting at least one value of a parameter of the home automation equipment item involved in a scenario definition, the setting step executed by both action on the specific control means so as to cause a phase for modifying the state of the home automation equipment item and action on the controller so as to cause a phase for modifying the appearance of the first graphic representation of the home automation equipment item.
