A mobile terminal for picture calls and a power-saving method thereof are provided to minimize the current consumption of a camera module and increase picture call time by supplying a power-saving clock, created by lowering the frequency of a main clock for the driving of a camera, to the camera module in power-saving mode. A mobile terminal which executes a picture call using a camera module(100) comprises a main control part(210) and a clock supply part(213). The main control part(210) instructs the clock supply part(213) to drive the camera module(100) with a power-saving clock, created by lowering the frequency of a main clock for the driving of the camera module(100), when a power-saving mode is enabled. The clock supply part(213) creates the power-saving clock according to the control of the main control part(210) and drives the camera module(100).

A mobile communication terminal and a method for hiding a phone number of the mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to use the phone number without exposing the phone number. A mobile communication terminal includes a memory(11) and a controller(12). The memory stores at least one phone number to be hidden and identification information corresponding to the phone number. The controller extracts the identification information from the memory and displays the information on a screen image so that the phone number is hidden, and performs the operation according to the information by using the phone number corresponding to the information, if the display of the phone number on the screen image is requested.

An apparatus and a method for moving a screen image in a portable terminal are provided to enable a user to move a screen image selectively while using the wireless Internet. An apparatus for moving a screen image includes an input module(106), a cursor position determining part(102), and a controller(100). The input module(106) includes a cursor moving key used for the movement of a search cursor and a search cursor locking key used for the fixing of the search cursor. The cursor position determining part(102) determines the position of a search cursor marked on a web-page. The controller(100) stores the position of the search cursor and then moves the screen image of a web-page according to the input direction of the search cursor moving key when detecting the input of both the search cursor moving key and the search cursor locking key, and when a user uses the wireless Internet.

A portable terminal and a method for moving an image thereof are provided to easily move to a specific location of a video image displayed through the portable terminal by once key input and display an image at the location, thereby quickly moving to a desired location through simple key input and displaying the corresponding image. A key input unit(43) includes predetermined keys capable of moving to a specific area of an image, and a display displays the video image. A controller(45) performs a control operation so as to jump to a specific area or a specific point of the video image corresponding to key input of the key input unit and display a corresponding image. The display comprises the followings. A first display area displays the image at the specific area or the specific point of the video image which is zoomed in or out. A second display area displays a movement guide image so as to easily move to the specific area or the specific point after displaying a movement guide line on the zoomed-in or out video image.

A portable terminal is provided to form a protruded part on a front side of the terminal and to install a separate display device inside the portable terminal on a rear side of the terminal, thereby protecting the display device from scratches or external shock. A body(10) is equipped with the first display(11) and the first input unit(15) on a front side. The second display(16) is installed in an inner part or a lower part of a rear layer(18) which forms a rear side of the body(10). So that information displayed on the second display(16) is recognized from the outside of a terminal, the rear layer(18) is made of a transparent or semitransparent material.

An automatic special character completion method of a portable terminal is provided to search emoticons associated with special characters or words inputted by a user from a DB so as to arrange the searched emoticons to display the emoticons on a separate window, thus a user is able to easily and quickly input the emoticons including the special characters. A controller receives special characters or characters inputted by a user(210), and decides whether the special characters are received(230). If so, the controller performs an automatic emoticon completion function associated with the special characters to input emoticons(250). The controller decides whether the currently performed application program is terminated(290). If so, the controller completes the automatic emoticon completion function.

A mobile communication terminal for protecting privacy and a received contents confirmation method are provided to register information on the other party with whom secret contents are to be transceived, and to keep contents sent from the registered party in a secret contents box, then to set a code value for accessing the secret contents box, thereby enhancing a privacy protection function. If a menu key is inputted from a user, it is confirmed whether a locking function for limiting access to a menu section of a mobile communication terminal is set(S200,S210). If so, a password for accessing the menu section of the terminal is requested(S220). If the password is inputted, menu information necessary for providing an additional function is extracted from a memory, and the extracted information is displayed on a display(S230,S240).

A missed event processing method of a communication terminal is provided to display combined missed events when the missed events are processed, and to consecutively process the missed events if a displayed missed event list is confirmed, thus a user does not have to individually confirm the missed events. A controller senses that a missed event edition mode is selected(221). The controller registers display methods of missed events or the missed events to be displayed in a missed event list(223). A user's missed events are periodically displayed on a display by the user's request and/or at certain time intervals.

A mobile phone terminal capable of conducting an emergency call in case of battery discharge and a control method are provided to divide a mobile phone battery space into a regular area and an emergency area, and to offer emergency power to a mobile phone if a user presses a random emergency key even in case of battery discharge, so that minimum calls are available even in an emergency. A mobile phone body(100) comprises as follows. A power sensor(104) senses that power applied from a battery(200) falls in less than a certain voltage. An emergency send button(105) is configured for emergency calls in case of battery discharge. A micro computer(106) outputs a control signal to supply emergency power to the body(100) as a signal of the button(105) is inputted. A power switch(107) switches a supply voltage into the emergency power. The battery(200) comprises as follows. A supply voltage storage(201) provides the supply voltage to the body(100). An emergency power storage(202) provides the emergency power to the body(100).
Abstract:
A switching device of a mobile communication terminal and a method are provided to release switching restrictions automatically since the restrictions are operated in task unit, even though switching is restricted in a predetermined module. A controller(20) restricts a multi-key of the first module which is executed, when the first module is executed. If the second module is executed while the multi-key of the first module is restricted, a task manager(40) deletes a tag of the first module to release multi-key restrictions. Tags are allocated to each module of a terminal, respectively, and are stored in a memory(50).
