Abstract:
An ink jet printing method, comprising the steps of A) providing an ink jet printer that is responsive to digital data signals; B) loading the printer with an ink jet recording element; C) loading the printer with an ink jet ink composition including an aqueous ink jet ink composition including: a pigment, a polymer latex containing at least one halogenated vinyl monomer, at least one surfactant, and a humectant; and D) printing on the ink jet recording element accompanied by a heating step using the ink jet ink composition in response to the digital data signals.
Abstract:
An improved apparatus for checking a plurality of printer nozzles in a printer device comprises: a print head comprising a plurality of nozzles; a means for detecting at least one droplet of ink ejected from at least one nozzle of said plurality of nozzles; and a means for performing a sequence of measurements on a first output signal of said detecting means, wherein a determination of performance of said print head is made by analysing detected output signals produced by one or a plurality of ink droplets passing the detector, the one or plurality of ink droplets containing a predetermined minimum volume of ink, and said sequence of measurements being measured at a plurality of time intervals.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for curing inks with radiation. An apparatus includes a housing that includes a pair of reflectors and/or two separate lamps of different power that direct ultraviolet radiation onto the inks being cured. The pre-cure reflector only reflects a portion of the radiation such that the inks are not fully cured. The pre-cure reflector causes the inks to change or thicken slightly such that they do not move on the media or merge with other inks while still retaining a liquid or wet nature. All colors of ink can then be placed in a single layer before the cure reflector fully cures the UV inks by reflecting sufficient UV radiation onto the single layer of UV ink.
Abstract:
A sheet conveying device includes an endless conveyor belt which has an electrode unit for retaining the sheet by using an electric force and which rotates while retaining the sheet so as to convey the sheet, a first electricity-supplying unit which applies a voltage to the electrode unit while it passes through a predetermined area, a second electricity-supplying unit which is disposed at a predetermined position which is upstream of the predetermined area and downstream of a position where the conveyor belt receives the sheet along a sheet-conveying path, and which applies another voltage to the electrode unit while it passes by the predetermined position, a detecting unit which detects a current or a voltage when the second electricity-supplying unit supplies electricity, and a determining unit which determines the state of the surface of the conveyor belt on the basis of the detected current or voltage.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for printing onto plastic cassettes for histological preparations and/or onto glass specimen slides for microscopic thin sections are described, in which a computing device (1) is provided to control the printing device (2), and the printing device (2) comprises an inkjet printer for printing onto the cassettes and/or specimen slides. The ink is pre-dried by way of a hot-air drier (3) and completely dried by way of a flash device (4).
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus which feeds a placed original, reads image information on the original by a reading unit, and forms an image on the original by an ink-jet printing head arranged on a downstream side along the original feed direction has an add-on processing part for changing the image information read by the reading unit in correspondence with the image to be formed by the ink-jet printing head.
Abstract:
A compact printer system includes at least a printer module and at least one of a range of further modules, which are connectable together to form a rod-shaped printer system. Each module has a connection device at one or both ends for interconnection of the modules, the connection device including a physical connection device including a plug on a male connection device and a socket on a corresponding female connection device and logical connection device including a universal serial bus having four conductive strips that carry power and data between modules.
Abstract:
An ink for ink-jet recording of the present invention includes water and a pigment. A total amount of free monovalent metal is not more than 300 ppm in the ink, and a total amount of free divalent or polyvalent metal is not more than 5 ppm in the ink. The ink may further comprise an antiseptic/fungicidal agent. The ink is excellent in dispersion stability of the pigment. The ink is stably discharged from a head over a long period without causing any clog-up at an ink flow passage and a nozzle of the head of a recording apparatus.
Abstract:
An offset print apparatus for applying a substance to a web is provided. The offset print apparatus has a transfer roll that is capable of being rotated. An ink jet printer is present and has a print head that is located proximate to the transfer roll. The print head has a plurality of orifices from which the substance is dispensed onto the transfer roll. The distance between the surface of the print head and the transfer roll is defined as a throw distance. A web is present and contacts the transfer roll. The substance is dispensed onto the transfer roll and is transferred to the web through contact of the transfer roll and the web. The web has an amount of dust laden boundary air that is formed proximate to the web when the web is moving. The print head of the ink jet printer is not in contact with the boundary air.
Abstract:
A printer is arranged to be self propelled for movement on a surface of a sheet on which printing is to take place. The printer is independently driven, while the sheet is held stationary, and does not have to be fed the sheet. The sheet can be oriented in a home position and indexed relative to a frame carrying the printer so that the printhead on the printer will print a line at a time perpendicular to the direction of travel of the frame.
