Abstract:
Disclosed are polypeptides and nucleic acids encoding same. Also disclosed are vectors, host cells, antibodies and recombinant methods for producing the polypeptides and polynucleotides, as well as methods for using same.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are nucleic acid sequences that encode polypeptides. Also disclosed are antibodies, which immunospecifically-bind to the polypeptide, as well as derivatives, variants, mutants, or fragments of the aforementioned polypeptide, polynucleotide, or antibody. The invention further discloses therapeutic, diagnostic and research methods for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders involving any one of these novel human nucleic acids, polypeptides, or antibodies, or fragments thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention provides novel isolated polynucleotides and small molecule target polypeptides encoded by the polynucleotides. Antibodies that immunospecifically bind to a novel small molecule target polypeptide or any derivative, variant, mutant or fragment of that polypeptide, polynucleotide or antibody are disclosed, as are methods in which the small molecule target polypeptide, polynucleotide and antibody are utilized in the detection and treatment of a broad range of pathological states. More specifically, the present invention discloses methods of using recombinantly expressed and/or endogenously expressed proteins in various screening procedures for the purpose of identifying therapeutic antibodies and therapeutic small molecules associated with diseases.
Abstract:
A light scattering detector is provided for measuring elastic light scattered at low and right angles from polymer solutions, such as in gel permutation chromatography. A laser (102) emits an incident beam (204) to a first window (110), a test cell (112), a second window (114), and a first mirror (120). The first mirror (120) has a hole (122) that allows the remains of the incident beam of the laser to pass trough. The first mirror (120) reflects the low angle scattered light into a first photo-detector (136). A second mirror (124) can be aligned with the first mirror (120) to reflect the scattered light into the first photo-detector (136). The test cell (112) can have a window that is perpendicular to the incident laser beam (204) in order to detect right angle scatter of the beam using a second detector (118).
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are nucleic acid sequences that encode G-coupled protein-receptor related polypeptides. Also disclosed are polypeptides encoded by these nucleic acid sequences, and antibodies, which immunospecifically-bind to the polypeptide, as well as derivatives, variants, mutants, or fragments of the aforementioned polypeptide, polynucleotide, or antibody. The invention further discloses therapeutic, diagnostic and research methods for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders involving any one of these novel human nucleic acids and proteins.

Abstract:
A eukaryotic RNA virus especially a picornavirus and most especially a poliovirus, which is made bicistronic with respect to its RNA function and is able to replicate and to express a foreign polypeptide in cells infected with the virus.
Abstract:
A metering mechanism comprises a housing (7) with a material inlet (12) and a rotary metering member (27) that is rotatably mounted between side walls (8, 9) of the housing with its periphery exposed to a chamber (48) within the housing so as to meter material from the chamber as it rotates, characterised in that a removable insert (74) is provided that is a close fit in said chamber and has a passage (75) through it that communicates at one end with said inlet (12) and at the other end with the periphery of the rotary metering member (27) so that the effective volume of said chamber (48) is reduced to the volume of said passage (75). Thus, of the metering mechanism incorporates the known shutter-type tramlining device in which a shutter (24) serves to close the inlet (12) to the housing, the quantity of seed retained in the chamber within the housing is reduced and therefore the length of a bout that will be sown after closing the shutter will be correspondingly reduced. The metering mechanism may also incorporate a tramlining device comprising an arcuate shutter member (84).
Abstract:
A portable or lightweight enclosure has a flexible cover sheet (1) which is anchored to a base (2) or to the ground. A number of flexurally stressed or spring-loaded arched supports (6) are located within the cover sheet, the lower of the supports being free and braced against the inside of the cover sheet (1) by the stressing or loading of the supports so as to maintain the cover sheet in tension. The opposite longitudinal edges (5) of the sheet may be attached to respective longitudinal base members (3) which may be filled with ballast. The lower ends of the arched supports (6) may be interconnected by longitudinal elements (7) through which irrigation water may be supplied.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed. The method includes simulating a preprinted form using a presentation overlay. The presentation device is directed to present the overlay as if it had been preprinted on the paper. Document data is then mixed with the simulated preprinted form such that the result accurately simulates a real preprinted form.
