Abstract:
A system for simultaneous indoor distribution of baseband digital signals (e.g Ethernet signals) and radiofrequency signals, the system comprising an Hybrid Optical Node and at least an Hybrid Switch/Hub node. The present invention solves the aforementioned problems proposing a system which simultaneously distributes the baseband digital data and the analog radiofrequency signals provided by a radio access node in an indoor environment by means of a Plastic Optical Fibre (POF) network. The main advantage of this invention is that it makes it possible to share a Plastic Optical Fiber infrastructure between a Local Area Network for data digital transmission, and the distribution of wireless radiofrequency signals, in particular DVB broadcast signals and Mobile Broadband signals like UMTS or LTE.

The method comprises defining the workflow of a service lifecycle by means of a state diagram and following its evolution and adaptation using rule-based adaptation mechanisms enabling the transformation of services to change in response to user requirements, and delivering to said rule-based adaptation mechanism user predefined application information, which declaratively defines the architecture of an application formed by several services or said architecture plus the behaviour of the whole application under a series of variable circumstances, and using said rule-based adaptation mechanism to process and enforce at run time at least said user predefined application information. The system is arranged and intended for implementing the method, by comprising interrelated elements arranged and intended for carrying out the actions of the method.

The method comprises using the reference models followed by TC 57 group of the IEC for carrying out communications between a central computing host and a plurality of computing devices, and also comprises providing a SIP mechanism inside a TC57 Architecture Model for carrying out said communications between said central computing host and said plurality of computing devices, through the establishment of SIP sessions and the subsequent dispatch of messages. The system is arranged and intended for implementing the method.

A multi-hop and multi-path store and forward system for bulk transfers comprising a plurality of nodes (100) wherein each node (100) also comprises an overlay management module (1) that is arranged to add a new node (100) to the overlay, removing it, and maintaining the overlay connections during the node's participation in the system; a volume prediction module (2) which is arranged to maintain a time series with the predicted maximum volume of data that can be forward to each neighbour node during each one of the slots that make an entire day; bootstrapping, ISP - friendliness, and security means; a scheduling and routing module (3) for all data transfers between a sender v, storage nodes w and a receiver node u; and wherein the module (3) also comprises volume prediction means to calculate an initial transfer plan and keeps updating it periodically as it receives updated predictions from the nodes, and means for solving a maximum network flow optimization problem; and wherein a transmission management module (4) is arranged to receive, scheduling and routing commands from the scheduling and routing module (3) of senders v for which a local node is forwarding and executes them accordingly. Aim of the system is to split a large file into multiple chunks using a number of intermediate storage nodes to bypass MTABs (Multiple Time aligned Bottlenecks) and shorten the delivery times for bulk data.

A method for classifying an image regarding a certain subjective characteristic, the method comprising: identifying the relevant and accent regions within said image; obtaining a plurality of measurements of image composition features in said image, wherein said image composition features comprises at least one of the following: • a feature based on the number of relevant and/or accent regions in said image, • a feature based on the homogeneity in the layout of the relevant regions, • a feature based on the correlation with the position of said relevant regions within the frame; choosing at least one measurement of said plurality of measurements of image composition features for rating said image on a scale regarding said certain subjective characteristic.

El sistema es aplicable al intercambio, entre dos o más usuarios, de mensajes multimedia cortos. El sistema se emplea indistintamente para implementaciones cliente- servidor (31, 32, 33), o para implementaciones cliente- cliente sin servidor(41, 42). Presenta los siguientes rasgos técnicos esenciales:(i) la sesión se establece (311, 411) cuando un primer cliente activa un pulsador de usuario y se finaliza (313, 413) cuando dicho primer usuario desactiva ese pulsador; (ii) en el inicio de la sesión (311, 411) se transmite un listado de todos los participantes; (iii) en el inicio de la sesión (311, 411) se transmite un identificador global de la sesión; (iv) los clientes alcanzados mediante un mensaje PTT enviado por el referido primer cliente responden o no con posterioridad al conocimiento de dichos listado e identificador.

A method for classifying a video regarding a subjective characteristic, the method comprising: • measuring a plurality of basic features (11) per frame thus obtaining a plurality of basic features measurements; • creating a plurality of second-level features by pooling (12) said basic features (11) measurements using a plurality of statistics of said basic features measurements in a determined period of time of footage; • creating a plurality of video features by pooling (13) said plurality of second- level features using a plurality of statistics of said second level features along the duration of the video; • choosing at least one video feature of said plurality of video features for classifying a video regarding a subjective characteristic.
Abstract:
It comprises analyzing audio content of multimedia files and performing a speech to text transcription thereof automatically by means of an ASR process, and selecting acoustic and language models adapted for the ASR process at least before the latter processes the multimedia file, i.e. "a priori". The method is particularly applicable to the automatic indexing, aggregation and clustering of news from different sources and from different types of files, including text, audio and audiovisual documents without any manual annotation.

A method and system are described for providing digital advertisements using a generic protocol. Advertisements are rendered to a user device via any one of a plurality of media channels of different type, which are provided by a plurality of media channel entities (10,11,12). The media channels comprise advertisement space having a predetermined format for providing the advertisements. A media channel entity, which provides one of the plurality of media channels, sends a request for an advertisement to any one of a plurality of advertising servers (20a,20b,20c). The advertisement server selects an advertisement and sends a reply to the media channel entity with a reference to the selected advertisement A common generic protocol is used by the plurality of media channel entities (10,11,12) for sending the request to any one of the plurality of advertisement servers (20a,20b,20c).
