A portable device and a method for controlling the same are disclosed, in which a user may control a display of the device more conveniently and exactly. The portable device having a flexible display, the portable device comprises a main display unit; a flexible display unit; a touch sensor unit configured to sense a touch input of a user; a measurement unit configured to detect expanding of the flexible display; and a processor configured to control the main display unit, the flexible display unit, the touch sensor unit, and the measurement unit, wherein the processor is further configured to: when a first image is displayed on a first area which is an expanded area of the flexible display unit, display a second image on a second area which is an additionally expanded area of the flexible display unit when additional expanding of the flexible display unit and a lack of a first touch input to the flexible display unit are sensed, and display the first image on the first area and the second area by enlarging the first image when the additional expanding of the flexible display unit and the first touch input are sensed.

A digital device including a scent emitting unit and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The digital device includes a display unit for displaying a first image including a first object having a first scent property and a second object having a second scent property, a sensor unit for sensing a distance from a specific body part of a user, a scent emitting unit, and a processor. The processor controls the scent emitting unit to emit any one of a first scent, a second scent or a mixture of the first scent and the second scent according to the distance from the specific body part of the user, and a mixture ratio of the first scent to the second scent in the mixture is changed according to a predetermined condition.

A method for controlling a head mounted display (HMD) includes detecting an external device, wherein the external device displays a content image, displaying a first type augmented reality image associated with the external device, displaying a second type augmented reality image associated with the content image displayed on the external device, changing a display position of the first type augmented reality image according to rotation of the external device, changing a display position of the second type augmented reality image according to rotation of the content image, and if the content image is not rotated, maintaining the display position of the second type augmented reality image even when the external device is rotated. If the external device is not rotated, the display position of the first type augmented reality image may be maintained even when the content image is rotated.
