    Abstract: Uplink control channel transmission in a shared radio frequency spectrum band may be transmitted using different uplink resources UCI based on a format of uplink control information (UCI) to be transmitted in the uplink control channel transmission. Different time resources, frequency resources, or combinations thereof, for the transmission of UCI by a UE may be provided by a base station and selected by the UE based on a UCI format. The resources to be used for UCI transmission may semi-statically configured, or dynamically indicated to a UE. Uplink transmissions may be configured in interlaces of frequency resources, with each interlace having one or more segments, and a base station may configure different segments for transmission of different format UCI. In some cases, different subframes, or different component carriers, may be configured for different formats of UCI.

    Abstract: Reference signal and transmitter (Tx)/receiver (Rx) precoding for user equipment (UE) multiplexing in new radio (NR) shared spectrum networks is discussed. In certain reference signals, a base station may schedule multiple UEs for transmission of uplink reference signals within an identified subframe. The base station may transmit a reference signal configuration message, wherein the reference signal configuration message includes a transmission sequence identifier identifying a multiplexing for antenna ports assigned for transmission of the uplink reference signals. The multiplexing may be one or both of frequency divisional multiplexing (FDM) and time division multiplexing (TDM) over the identified subframe. Additional reference signals, transmit precoders may be identified by the base station based on channel inversion calculations of the channel matrix determined based on uplink reference signals.

    Abstract: A base station (BS) may transmit, and a user equipment (UE) may receive, a physical broadcast channel, such as a narrowband physical broadcast channel (NB-PBCH). In an interference-limited scenario with synchronous cells in a network, repetitions of a symbol being transmitted for a first physical broadcast channel of a first cell may collide with repetitions of a symbol being transmitted for a second physical broadcast channel of a second cell. This may result in the UE being unable to recover symbols of a physical broadcast channel. In some aspects, the BS may transmit, and the UE may receive, a physical broadcast channel including bits processed using a first processing stage, such as using first scrambling sequences, and a second processing stage, such as using second scrambling sequences, to compensate for the interference, thereby ensuring that the UE can recover the symbols of the physical broadcast channel.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may establish narrowband communications. The base station may configure positioning reference signal (PRS) resources based at least in part on wideband or narrowband transmissions, and a UE may receive the PRS transmissions over one or more narrowband regions. The UE, may determine PRS resources and receive portions of wideband PRS transmissions that are transmitted in one or more narrowband regions of the system bandwidth. The base station may configure PRS resources separately for narrowband devices, such as according to a bandwidth of the narrowband devices or with a single PRS tone per symbol compared to two PRS tones per symbol that may be used for wideband PRS transmissions. The base station may perform positioning measurements for a UE based at least in part on timing of uplink transmissions from the UE.
