    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first system information message including an indication of a resource configuration for a control resource set (CORESET) from a base station. The CORESET may include a common search space for a downlink control information (DCI) message that schedules a second system information message. The UE may identify a set of parameters from multiple sets of parameters for the CORESET based on the indication received in the first system information message and the UE being a first type of UE. The set of parameters may be different from a second set of parameters for the CORESET associated with a second type of UE different from the first type of UE. The UE may receive, in the CORESET according to the identified set of parameters, the DCI message scheduling the second system information message.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support allocation of resources for a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) for reduced bandwidth devices. In a first aspect, a method includes monitoring, by a user equipment (UE) configured for reduced bandwidth operation, at least a subset of a first set of time and frequency resources allocated to a synchronization signal block (SSB) for UEs configured for non-reduced bandwidth operation. The SSB includes synchronization signals and a PBCH. The method includes monitoring, by the UE, a second set of time and frequency resources allocated to the PBCH for UEs configured for reduced bandwidth operation. The method includes receiving, by the UE, the synchronization signals and the PBCH within at least the subset of the first set of time and frequency resources and the second set of time and frequency resources. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may obtain configuration information that identifies resources for sounding reference signal (SRS) positioning. The UE may transmit, to a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), a plurality of SRS transmissions at different times according to the configuration information. The UE may receive, from the RIS, a plurality of SRS transmissions comprising reflections of the plurality of SRS transmissions to the RIS, wherein each of the plurality of SRS transmissions from the RIS is transmitted at a different angle of departure (AoD) from the RIS. The UE may measure each of the plurality of SRS transmissions from the RIS to produce a plurality of measurements. The UE may perform a positioning operation based on the plurality of measurements.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a message indicating a common pool of resources for a random access channel (RACH). The UE may initiate a random access by transmitting, to the base station, a first RACH preamble in a RACH occasion within a subset of the common pool of resources. The subset is selected based at least in part on a use case that triggered the random access. In some aspects, the UE may transmit an initial RACH preamble and/or a RACH payload in order to activate the subset.     Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for harvesting radio frequency (RF) energy based on an energy harvesting EH indication signal. A transmitting device such as a base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), an EH indication signal that indicates a time period when radio frequency (RF) energy is to be available. The UE may receive the EH indication signal and harvest RF energy from the RF signal during the time period.
