    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the frequency of a modulated signal from being limited even if a laser medium whose response time constant determined by a fluorescence life is large is used by a method wherein an output laser beam which has the resultant frequency of a basic wave laser beam and a modulating laser beam obtained by the laser medium is obtained. CONSTITUTION:A nonlinear optical crystal device 11 is made to generate an output laser beam LA5 which has a wavelength of the resultant frequency of a basic laser beam LA2 and a modulating laser beam LA3 having a wavelength different from the wavelength of the basic laser beam LA2 and whose light intensity is varied is accordance with the variation of the light intensity of the modulating laser beam LA3 by supplying the laser beam LA2 obtained by a laser medium 16 and the modulating laser beam LA2 to the nonlinear optical crystal device 11 provided in a resonator CAV with the laser medium 16. For instance, the modulating laser beam LA3 generated by a modulating semiconductor laser 22 driven by a modulation signal S2 is reflected by a half- mirror 18 and supplied to the nonlinear optical crystal device 11 through an output mirror 17 and along the light axis of the resonator CAV.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a laser light source which can provide a further high power output laser beam with a high quality single lateral mode by using the constitution of an end pump type laser light source by a method wherein exciting laser beams are supplied to both ends of a laser medium. CONSTITUTION:In a laser light source 11, an oscillated light passage PTH through a laser medium 12 is formed by the oscillating operation of a basic wave laser beam LA12 generated in the laser medium 12 and an output laser beam 14 is emitted in accordance with the basic wave laser team A12. First and second exciting laser beam LA11 and LA13 are supplied to the first and second end planes 12A and 12B of the laser medium 12 at which the oscillated light passage PTH crosses the laser medium 12. For instance, the exciting laser beam LA11 from an exciting semiconductor laser 13 is applied to the incident plane 12A of the rod type laser medium 12 through a condensing lens system 14 and, further, the exciting laser beam LA13 a second exciting semiconductor laser 15 is applied to the emitting plane 12B of the laser medium 12 through a condensing lens system 16 and a polarization type beam spritter 17.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently produce oscillating laser light whose phases are put in order by providing a reflecting mirror on output reflecting members so as to put the effective light passage length of laser light which passes an effective light point at which near sightedness field image of semiconductor laser is formed. CONSTITUTION:An output reflecting member 12 has a reflecting mirror 12C so that the effective light passage lengths from each effective light point is put in order each other on the effective light points at which a near-sightedness field image is formed. Oscillating laser light LA1 emitted from each effective light point at which the near-sightedness field image 2 is formed is passed through a passage in which the effective light passage lengths are put in order and returned to the near-sightedness field image of semiconductor laser 1 while it is passed through the passage in which the respective effective light passage lengths are put in order each other and struck on the reflecting mirror 12C. Therefore, laser light which is passed on each effective light point performs oscillation operation in a prescribed phase corresponding to mutually arranged effective light passage lengths and the oscillating laser light LA1 whose phases are put in order in a lateral mode can be produced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently emit output laser light by easily regulating the effective length of a non-linear optical crystal element. CONSTITUTION:A inclined surface on which the effective light passage length of a non-linear optical crystal element 12 is changed is formed on end surfaces 12A, 12B through which the basic wave laser light LA(w) of the non-linear optical crystal element 12 is passed as gone in the direction at which the light passage of the basic wave laser light LA(w) is crossed. Sufficiently highly precisely effective light passage length can be regulated even if rough position regulation is practically performed because the ratio of change of the effective light passage length for the movement of the non-linear optical crystal element 12 can be determined by an inclination of the inclined surface. Therefore, easily adjustable laser light source can practically sufficiently precisely be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To generate a resonance laser beam mode-locked to be adapted for the cavity length of a resonator by periodically exciting a laser body to be excited by a semiconductor laser by the resonance frequency of the resonator. CONSTITUTION:An exciting semiconductor laser 8 is controlled by a modulation signal S11 having a predetermined frequency to be determined on the basis of the resonance frequency (f) of a resonator CAV thereby to generate a resonance laser beam LA longitudinally mode-locked to the resonator CAV, and the light LA1 is radiated as an output laser light LA2. When the light LA1 generated by a laser body 1 is reciprocated in the resonator CAV having a cavity length L to be returned to the body 1, the essential part of the body 1 is excited by the laser 8, it is strengthened by the laser beam generated newly at the body 1, while the laser beam of other mode is not strengthened thereby, but weakened. Thus, the mode-locked output laser LA2 can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the number of channels without damaging the power efficiency of a laser by arranging an optical member to sandwich the divergence angle of respective laser lights to the front surface of plural lasers, and simultaneously executing the recording and reproducing of plural channels. CONSTITUTION:At the front surface of semiconductor lasers 11, 12,...1n, a micro- lens array 8 is distributed so that micro-lenses 81, 82,...8n can correspond. The divergence angle of laser lights l1, l2,...ln from the lasers 11, 12,...1n is made narrower by the lenses 81, 82,...8n, respectively and thereafter, the angle is supplied to a collimator lens 2. For this reason, even when the aperture ratio of a lens 2 is made smaller, the power efficiency of the laser is not damaged. Consequently, an interval L2 of prescribed positions P1-Pn on a recording medium 5 can be minimized and the number of channels can be enlarged.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure the satisfactory use of a disk even under an inferior environment by incorporating a rotary support member for disk in the main body of a hermetic cartridge together with an image forming means which forms an image on the surface of a recording medium of the disk with light radiated from a light source. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge main body 2 stores a disk 3 hermetically in the outside air and in a record/reproduction enable way. A shaft 4 serves as a rotary support member which supports rotatably the disk 3 on the main body 2. An image forming means, i.e., an objective lens 12 is added to form an image on the surface of a recording medium of the disk 3 with light radiated from a light source together with an actuator 13. In such constitution, the signals can be recorded and reproduced in a state where the disk 3 is surely protected from the outside air. Thus the disk 3 can be used satisfactorily even under an inferior environment.
