Abstract:
A width-adjustable curtain track includes a track assembly and a connection device to link to the track assembly, which, as well as connection device, can be undrawn or folded in the axial direction, to enable a curtain cloth that is attached on the connection device to extended or folded followed the connection device. Owing to the adjustable width function of the track assembly, the invention is applicable to various window frames for adjusting to required widths to further increase the convenience of curtain usage.

A valance includes central and end members formed from a single piece of extruded stock, with the central member having mitered corners at each end, and with each end member having a mitered end and a square end. The extruded stock has an inner surface including upper and lower attachment slots and an outer surface including upper and lower trim strip receiving slots. An “L”-shaped corner bracket connects each end member with the central member, extending within the upper and lower attachment slots. A decorative trim strip having heat-formed corners extends within the trim strip receiving slots of the end members and the central member. After the extruded stock is cut to a predetermined length, end sections are cut using a saw, with each end of the stock placed against a first stop within a mitering fixture. Next, the each end of the remaining portion of the stock is placed against a second stop within the fixture, and scrap portions are cut away to provide end surfaces inclined at appropriate angles.

In a spring-loaded curtain mount, the mount includes a pole interface at a proximal end, a compressive mechanism, and a head at a distal end. The pole interface is adapted to receive the end of a standard length adjustable pole or a painter's pole. The compression mechanism is disposed between the proximal end of the mount and the head. The mount includes a coupling device adapted to receive a portion of a curtain. During installation, the curtain mount is coupled to the end of an extension pole and the length of the pole is adjusted such that the combined length of the pole and mount is slightly longer than the distance between the floor and ceiling. At ground level, a portion of the curtain is attached to the head of the curtain mount. The curtain and mount are raised to the ceiling and the mount and pole are compressed between the floor and the ceiling. This compressive force operates to urge the head toward the ceiling, securing the mount in place.
Abstract:
A functional drapery rod suitable for receiving artistic material is made from a cylindrical member such as a wood rod or PVC. A grove is made longitudinally in the surface of the rod into which a track is fitted. Drapery is supported by decorative members such as rings which are attached to slides moveable along the track. The rod is retained by support members and connectors on the support members and on the rod prevent rotation of the rod in the supports.
Abstract:
An anti-friction device for the sliding of cloth rings of curtains, pelmets and similar which includes a shaped element out of wood, metal, plastic or other material, corresponding to the curving of the lateral surface of a support. The anti-friction device is provided with an applicator such as a hook and loop fastener combination for the application of the shaped element into the internal upper portion of each cloth ring, so as to be arranged between the ring and the support, thus helping the reciprocal sliding.

A customizable device for tying back an item selected from the group consisting of curtains, draperies, decorations, towels, and vertical blinds to a wall. The device includes a strap that is slender, elongated, and has a curtain-facing surface, an ambient-facing surface that is opposite to the curtain-facing surface thereof, and a pair of ends. One end of the strap is attached to the wall. The strap is tubular and opens at the pair of ends thereof so as to allow insertion of a material therein so as to customize the strap. The pair of ends of the strap are relieved on the curtain-facing surface thereof so as to facilitate insertion of the material. The strap is clear so as to allow the material therein to be visible therethrough.

A window cornice assembly is disclosed. The window cornice assembly may comprise a front section and two side sections upon which fabric may be arranged. Corner pieces may be mounted on the front and side sections. Fabric may be arranged and secured on the front and/or side sections by clips that retain the fabric taut and over the front face thereof. The clips can be attached to each other directly by an elastic cord or band, or attached to the rear face of the front section directly so that the fabric is tightly pulled over the front face of the front section. The elastic cord or band imparts a desired amount of elasticity to the fabric. The window cornice assembly may have one or more elongated channel-shaped support strips arranged on a front section to provide additional rigidity thereto.

A fabric fastening kit for fastening a piece of fabric to a rigid structure. The fabric fastening kit is comprised of a strip of netting material having a nominal width and a plurality of opened meshes, and a longitudinal pronged element having a nominal thickness, a surface, a backside, a foreside, and a plurality of juxtaposed prongs defined within that planar surface. Each prong has a narrow tip, a wide base and a length between the tip and the base being at least equivalent to the width of the base of one prong. The pronged element is attachable to a rigid structure. The strip of netting material is attachable to the pronged element and is also attachable to the margin of the piece of fabric to be fastened to the rigid structure. Each of the meshes of the netting material has a perimeter which is at least twice as long as the total of the width of the base of one prong plus the nominal thickness of the prong, whereby when the pronged element is mounted on the rigid structure, the netting material is repeatedly tangentially attachable to and removable from the pronged element without mangling the netting material. In another aspect of the present invention, the pronged element has a spacer means mounted on the backside thereof for spacing the prongs from the surface of the structure when the pronged element is attached to that structure.
