Abstract: This invention takes advantages of color characteristics of medical devices for the cosmetic and indication purposes. For example, the appearances of the metallic brackets used in orthodontics are improved with colors other than the original metallic color by surface treatment using plasma techniques. For example, orthodontic brackets are made with piezochromic materials. When the archwire's torsion and bending forces are fading due to the movement of the teeth, the color of the pressure sensitive brackets will be changed, and the need of archwire's readjustment to have proper torsion and bending forces is signalized. For example, rehabilitation equipments are made with piezochromic materials. When the pressures exerting on the rehabilitation equipments are different, different colors of the equipments are displayed, and the therapists can then act accordingly.

Abstract: A harvested botanic offshoot has a first end with a portion thereof stripped of bark forming a botanic cleaning component that is adapted for insertion into a human mouth for dental cleaning. A proximal end of the offshoot can be carved down in size and releasably installed in a socket or internal channel inside a dental cleaning assembly. A motor inside the dental cleaning assembly can vibrate, oscillate or rotate the botanic cleaning component inside a user's mouth. The dental cleaning assembly has an opening arranged to allow at least a portion of the botanic cleaning component to extend outside the body portion of the dental cleaning assembly.

Abstract: Provided is a dental handpiece which can prevent degradation in visibility of a surgical field. The anti-reflection layer 100 is formed on the top surface and the side surface of the head portion 241 of the lid member 24 close to the root canal of the tooth, to which the operator pays attention, and further on the outer surface of the second cylindrical member 12 (refer to FIG. 3). Therefore, the reflection of light of a dental lighting tool provided with the anti-reflection layer 100 is suppressed, and degradation in visibility of a surgical field can be avoided. In addition, visibility of stains such as proteins adhering to the lid member 24 and the second cylindrical member 12 is improved, and cleaning thereof is facilitated.
