Abstract: PURPOSE: Embossed cellulosic fibrous structures can be used for cleaning areas of the human person, for example, dry toilet tissue, paper towels, facial tissues, skin care articles for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes and dry wipes; for cleaning other surfaces, for example, kitchen and bathroom surfaces; and for surfaces which require cleaning in industry, for example, machinery or vehicle surfaces. CONSTITUTION: Use of a repeating embossing pattern on a wet-laid cellulosic fibrous structure(10) is provided to improve cleaning performance of the cellulosic fibrous structure(10), the embossing pattern being non-continuous in at least one diagonal direction and comprising non-equidistant discrete embossing sites(14), the cleaning performance index (CPIE) being not less than 105, wherein the index (CPIE) is represented in terms of the following equation: CPIE = ££(CPVE - CPVR)/CPVR| x 100| + 100, wherein CPIE is the cleaning performance index of the fibrous structure(10); CPVE is the cleaning performance value of the fibrous structure(10); CPVR is the cleaning performance value of the fibrous structure(10) without the embossing pattern; and CPVE = soil removed from the fibrous structure(10) DIVIDED no. of the fibrous structure(10) sheets CPVR = soil removed from the fibrous structure(10) without the pattern DIVIDED no. of the fibrous structure(10) sheets without the pattern.

Abstract: Disclosed are multi-ply tissue products comprising a non-crosslinked binder that are durable and dispersible. The products generally have a Slosh time less than 2 minutes, such as less than about 60 seconds, such as less than about 45 seconds. Surprisingly, the foregoing Slosh times are achieved despite the tissue products having relatively high cross-machine direction (CD) wet tensile strength, such as greater than about 100 g/3″. Typically, increasing wet tensile strength, particularly wet CD tensile strength, negatively effects dispersability and increases Slosh time. Despite this trend, the present invention surprisingly provides a tissue product having a relatively high degree of wet strength and good dispersability.

Abstract: Multi-layer bags may be formed to include first and second sidewalls joined along a first side edge, an opposite second side edge, and a closed bottom edge. The first and second layers may be non-continuously laminated together to include bonded regions in which the layers are bonded and unbonded regions in which the layers are not bonded. Such a bag may be described as a “bag-in-a-bag” type configuration in which the inner bag is non-continuously bonded to the outer bag. The inventors have surprisingly found that such configurations of non-continuous bonding provides increased and unexpected strength properties to the multi-layer films and bags.
