Abstract:
A motion control system includes a top mount, a bottom mount, a rigid housing, an air spring, and a linear actuator. The air spring transfers force of a first load path between the top mount and the bottom mount. The air spring includes a pressurized cavity containing pressurized gas that transfers the force of the first load path. The linear actuator transfers force of a second load path between the top mount and the bottom mount in parallel to the first load path. The rigid housing defines at least part of the pressurized cavity and transfers the force of the second load path.

Abstract:
Vehicle cab suspension control systems are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the cab suspension control systems can include front cab-to-frame mounts that include controllable elastomer-based isolators that can provide real time variable damping to improve ride quality and/or road holding and reduce cab roll in response to, for example, input from one or more cab and/or frame mounted accelerometers, position sensors, etc. Embodiments of the control systems described herein can utilize a single vehicle controller (e.g., an ECU) to control all of the cab suspension components (e.g., semi-active damping technologies, air spring technologies, etc.) employed on a vehicle to provide a single suspension control solution that can provide improved ride performance, road holding, etc.
Abstract:
A compressed air supply installation for operating an air suspension installation of a vehicle includes an air supply unit configured to supply air, an air compression unit configured to compress air, a bleeding line, and a compressed air supply line. The bleeding line includes a bleeding valve arrangement in the form of a controllable solenoid valve arrangement comprising a magnetic part and a pneumatic part actuatable directly via the magnetic part, and a bleeding port for bleeding air. The compressed air supply line includes an air dryer, and a compressed air port for supplying the pneumatic installation with compressed air. The pneumatic part is open in an unactivated state of the magnetic part of the solenoid valve arrangement. The pneumatic part is open in a branch line of the compressed air supply line between a pressure-side valve port and a control-side valve port of the branch line.

The trailer further optionally includes a steering system associated with at least one axle, the axle including a tie rod connected between wheels on both ends of the axle, the steering system comprising cylinders configured to articulate the wheels, and a sensing device configured to monitor movement of the tie rod and facilitate actuating the cylinders to turn the wheels.
Abstract:
Single adjustable air suspension shocks with built-in damper device and coil assist, apparatus, system and method for motor vehicles, such as automobiles, vans, trucks, off the road vehicles, and the like. Air suspension systems, devices, apparatus, and methods for allowing motor vehicle drivers to increase and decrease compressed air supplies in air suspension devices. Deflating interior air springs/airbags (bladders) inside the devices allows for springs and pistons on shock absorbers in the devices to expand outward separating lower front and rear frame portions which effectively lowers the motor vehicle to the ground surface and for the driver to have a firmer ride. Inflating the air springs/airbags (bladders) allows for the springs and the pistons on the shock absorbers in the devices to retract into the devices so that the devices have a more shock absorbing effect giving the driver and passenger(s) a smoother ride, which also raises the motor vehicles above the ground surface.
Abstract:
The subject invention reveals a distance measuring device comprising: a sensing module, a target module, and an evaluating module, wherein the sensing module and the target module are mountable so as to execute a movement with respect to each other along a movement trajectory, wherein the target module comprises a magnetic field generating element having a magnetic pole axis, wherein the sensing module comprises a first magnetic field sensing array being arranged distant to the movement trajectory. The sensing module and the target module can advantageously be situated within the pressurizable chamber of an air spring which is defined by (contained within) a first mounting plate, a second mounting plate, and a flexible member of the air spring.
Abstract:
An end closure (260) is dimensioned for securement to a gas spring end member (204). The end closure is dimensioned to form a substantially fluid-tight, friction-fit connection with a flexible spring member (206) that is in an at least substantially-cured condition. The end closure (260) can include an end wall portion (298), a first side wall portion (300) that extends from along the end wall portion (298) and a second side wall portion (304) that is disposed radially inward of the first side wall portion and is axially-offset relative to the end wall portion. The second side wall portion at least partially forms a mounting seat that is dimensioned to form a substantially fluid-tight, friction-fit connection between at least the second side wall portion of the end closure (260) and the flexible spring member (204). A gas spring assembly as well as a suspension system and methods of assembly are also included.
