Asbestiform crystalline calcium M phosphate, where M is sodium or lithium, typically having a length to average diameter ratio of at least 5:1, can be prepared by forming a melt of a source of oxygen, calcium, phosphorus and M having a mole ratio of about 15 percent to about 30 percent M2O, about 48 percent to about 60 percent P2O5 and about 20 percent to about 37 percent CaO, cooling the melt within the range of about 500 DEG C. to about 750 DEG C. for a sufficient time to permit blocks of calcium M phosphate to form, and fiberizing the blocks into the asbestiform crystals. Such asbestiform crystaline calcium M phosphates are useful to prepare composites of organic polymeric materials.

The invention relates to lubricating grease compositions comprising (a) at least one highly viscous, fluorinated oil having a viscosity of between 500 - 1500mm 2 /s, (b) boron nitride and (c) a binder which is selected from bentonite, alkali metal phosphates, aluminum phosphates, alkali metal silicates, alkaline earth metal silicates, aluminum silicates, alkaline earth metal carbonates, calcium borate, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide and mixtures thereof. Said lubricating grease compositions can be used, in particular, in a high-temperature range, for example for greasing oven drawer rails.

A grease composition containing: (a) the reaction product of: (i) a calcium containing overbased organic acid; and (ii) a copolymer derived from monomers containing (1) an olefin; and (2) an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride or derivatives thereof and (b) an oil of lubricating viscosity, wherein the overbased calcium sulphonate contains colloidally dispersed calcium carbonate is selected from the group consisting of calcite, vaterite and mixtures thereof. The invention further relates to the process to make the composition and its use in greases to increase water resistance.
