Abstract:
This invention relates to a blend of fibers for use in protective clothing, a lightweight fabric made from such blend, protective articles made from the blend or fabric, and methods for making the fabric. The protective fabrics and articles of this invention have the unique combination of being comfortable, being highly effective against electrical arcs and flash fire hazards and having a pleasing appearance. Specifically, these fabrics can be processed to give the look and feel similar to conventional clothing fabrics such as denim fabrics.
Abstract:
An intimate blend of staple fibers has from 10 to 75 parts by weight of at least one aramid staple fiber, from 15 to 80 parts by weight of at least one flame retardant cellulosic staple fiber, and from 5 to 30 parts by weight of at least one polyamide staple fiber. The intimate blend of staple fibers provides yarns and fabrics that are flame retardant, also referred to as fire resistant, and can be used to make flame retardant articles, such as clothing. The flame retardant fabrics may have a basis weight from 4 to 15 ounces per square yard.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a felt for dehydration of a fiber web, preferably an asbestos fiber web in a machine for manufacturing of asbestos cement pipes, which felt being in the form a two layered fabric, one of the layers constitutes the upper layer and is closest to the fiber web. It is desirable to improve known felts in order to reduce their susceptibility to be filled up and worn out.Such a technical problem is solved in accordance with the present invention by a combination of twisted yarn threads of spun staple fibers and monofilament threads, said twisted yarn threads of spun staple fibers in at least the upper layer being roughened.
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a spun yarn which has not only a soft texture but also functions that cannot be attained by a natural or cellulose-based fiber alone, namely high water absorption, quick drying property and non-see-through property, and which is suitable for clothing, particularly for inner shirts or sport shirts; and a woven or knitted fabric comprising the same. [Solution] A mixed spun yarn which comprises 20 to 80 mass% of a polyester-based fiber having a flat multi-lobe section and 20 to 80 mass% of a cellulose-based fiber, wherein: the cross section of the polyester-based fiber has a flat shape which has six or more protrusions on the circumference; and the flatness degree and modification degree of the cross section are prescribed.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a production method for purified polysaccharide fibers in which carbon disulfide emission is suppressed while efficiently producing purified polysaccharide fibers having excellent strength, purified polysaccharide fibers produced by using the production method, a fiber-rubber complex using the purified polysaccharide fibers, and a tire having excellent tire characteristics using the fiber-rubber complex. The production method for purified polysaccharide fibers of the present invention is a production method for purified polysaccharide fibers of wet-spinning or dry-wet-spinning polysaccharide by bringing a polysaccharide solution obtained by dissolving a polysaccharide raw material in a liquid including an ionic liquid into contact with a solidification liquid including an ionic liquid, in which a concentration of the ionic liquid in the solidification liquid is 0.4% by weight to 50% by weight and the anionic moieties of the ionic liquid in the polysaccharide solution and the ionic liquid in the solidification liquid have one or more types selected from the group consisting of a phosphinate ion, a phosphate ion, and a phosphonate ion.
