Abstract:
According to particular embodiments, a door operating system comprises: a rotating handle removably coupled to a first gear; the first gear coupled to a second gear; the second gear removably coupled to a worm gear; and the worm gear coupled to a rotating plate. Rotation of the handle rotates the first gear which rotates the second gear which rotates the worm gear which rotates the rotating plate to cause the door to open or close. The first gear is swappable with the second gear to modify a gear ratio of the door operating system.
Abstract:
A casement window operator includes a linear input mechanism configured to be mounted to a stationary frame of a casement window, a linear to rotary motion converter operably coupled to an output of the linear input mechanism, a gear reducer operably coupled to an output of the rotary motion converter, and a sash arm operably coupled to an output of the gear reducer to rotate in conjunction with the output of the gear reducer. The sash arm is configured to extend from the stationary frame of the casement window to a rotatable window sash of the casement window.
Abstract:
A foot-operated door opener including a base secured to a door and an extension having a top surface and a bottom surface. The foot-operated door is configured such that a door may be pulled open using either the top or bottom of a user's foot or foot covering.
Abstract:
An electric door operator for opening and closing one or a spaced pair of transit vehicle passenger doors for being mounted over an opening for the doors. A rotatable input shaft has an electric motor secured to the input shaft for driving the input shaft, a worm centrally positioned on the motor shaft, and an electric brake mounted to the input shaft at an end opposite of the electric motor. A drum cam lifts a pinion from a worm gear disconnecting the worm gear from an output gear train in an emergency.
Abstract:
A window operator mountable on the frame of window having a hinged movable sash including a drive assembly for positioning the movable sash and a separately installable drive shaft for operating the drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a drive chain coupled to the movable sash of the window that extends and retracts to position the movable sash. The drive assembly can be mounted to the frame first without the drive shaft. After the window is installed, the drive shaft can be then inserted into the drive assembly and used to extend and retract the drive chain and move the movable sash. The window operator includes a drive shaft retention assembly for receiving and retaining the drive shaft once the drive shaft is inserted into the drive assembly.
Abstract:
A door opening and closing device for a slide door, which can be horizontally open and close the slide door by application of a light load and which can be constructed and maintained at low costs. The door opening and closing device has a transmission mechanism for converting through a lever (31) the amount of settlement of a tread plate (21) placed on floor surfaces at positions in front and back of the slide door (12), into a predetermined displacement amount. The tread plate (21) is weight-wise balanced such that the transmission mechanism and settlement of the tread plate due to the weight of an adjustment weight (W) causes the tread plate (21) to float through the lever (31). Up-down movement of the long transmission member (32) presses a drive rotation body (42) to an open door rail (41), and a component force of the pressing force allows the slide door (12) to be opened by application of a light load.
Abstract:
An opening mechanism having a cover assembly, a base mounting plate, and a lever member. The lever member has a first arm and a second arm, which pivot from a first position to a second position. The movement of the arms from the first position to the second position causes one of the arms to move a closure from a closed position to an open position.
Abstract:
A movable barrier operator (200) comprises a motor (201) having an output drive shaft that itself comprises a first end (202) and a second end (203) that is disposed opposite to the first end. The movable barrier operator also comprises a hand-operated chain hoist (204) that is connected to the second end of this output drive shaft. By one approach, the movable barrier operator also comprises a reduction mechanism (207) and a transmission (210). The reduction mechanism is disposed parallel to and laterally of the motor and comprises a movable barrier drive shaft (208) and an input drive shaft (209). The transmission, in turn, is disposed to couple the first end of the output drive shaft of the motor to the input drive shaft of the reduction mechanism.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an opening means (1) for a closing unit (14), having a bearing (2) which can be fastened on a closing unit (14), and having two pivotable lever arm parts (3, 4), of which one circle sector-like pivoting plane is perpendicular, and a further pivoting plane is essentially parallel to the plane of the closing unit (14), wherein one lever arm part is a force arm (4) and one lever arm part is a load arm (3), characterized in that when the force arm (4) is pivoted in its circle sector-like plane which is perpendicular to the plane of the closing unit (14), the load arm (3) is simultaneously pivoted via a coupling, in the opposite direction to the force arm (4), in its circle sector-like plane perpendicular to the plane of the closing unit (14).
Abstract:
A vehicle hand tool and method of use for opening and closing a vehicle door and performing various additional functions. The hand tool includes a hand gripper, a first rod and a second rod. The first rod includes a first end and a second end and the first end is fixed to the hand gripper. The second rod includes a third end and a fourth end and is movably mounted to the first rod. The second rod is movable from a storage position wherein the fourth end is adjacent the first rod and an extended position wherein the fourth end is spaced from the first rod. An attachment mechanism is mounted to the fourth end and a tool is removably mountable to the attachment mechanism. A release button is mounted to the hand gripper or the first rod and is movable to secure or release the vehicle hand tool from the storage position.
