Abstract:
Abstract:

Abstract:
A connector is used to connect a gases supply to a user. The user can be fitted with an interface, such as a cannula, while the gases supply can include a conduit. The connector interfaces between the conduit and the interface. The connector has a female assembly and a male assembly that connect together, such as by push fit. The male assembly includes an inner portion sized and configured to mate with a first female connector and an outer portion sized and configured to alternatively mate with a second female connector.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a fluid connection port for forming a working fluid connection between a deformable, flexible tube and a fluid handling device, the fluid connection port comprising a bore extending from an exterior surface of the fluid handling device to an internal fluid handling feature, the bore comprising a narrow diameter bore section adjacent the exterior surface of the fluid handling device, a larger diameter bore section adjacent the internal fluid handling feature, and a shoulder separating the narrow diameter bore section and the larger diameter bore section, wherein the diameter of the bore at the narrow diameter bore section is less than the outside diameter of the deformable, flexible tube.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Method and apparatus are disclosed for forming a sealed communication between conduits or conduit subassemblies (14, 12), each of which has a wall (22, 32) with an exterior surface (24, 34), and at least one of the walls includes an electrically conductive portion. The exterior surfaces may be brought into a facing relationship, and each conductive portion is heated sufficiently to sterilize the exterior surfaces of the walls by generating electrical current in the conductive portion, such as by application of a voltage or by induction. An aperture is then provided, as by an aperture - forming member, through the facing walls to provide communication between the conduits or conduit subassemblies.
Abstract:
A contamination resistant connecting system includes, a first conduit, a first connector in operable communication with the first conduit, a first seal configured to seal at least part of the first connector from an environment, a second conduit operationally connectable with the first conduit, a second connector in operable communication with the second conduit that is operationally connectable with the first connector and a second seal configured to seal at least part of the second connector from an environment. Additionally, at least one piercing device is configured to pierce through the first seal and the second seal to allow operational connection of the first conduit with the second conduit.
Abstract:
A sterile connector assembly for mounting on a fluid system includes a first connector and a second connector. The first connector includes a stem defining a fluid passage therethrough, a first housing surrounding the stem and defining a first aperture, and a first valve disposed over the first aperture. The second connector includes a second housing configured to matingly engage the first housing. The second housing defines a second aperture and defines a seal structure. The seal structure is configured to engage the stem. The second connector also includes a second valve disposed over the second aperture. The second valve is configured to engage the first valve when the first housing engages the second housing.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a triple-layered water pipe having an antibacterial function, comprising impact resistant inner and outer hard layers made of vinyl chloride resin having the same properties as the main component, and a high tensile strength intermediate hard layer made of vinyl chloride resin harder than the impact resistant inner and outer hard layers, as the main component, capable of achieving both antibacterial effects preventing microbial inhabitation by application of a resin composition containing a zeolite inorganic antibacterial agent to impact resistant inner and outer hard layers of the triple-layered water pipe, and excellent tensile strength and low temperature impact strength due to structural characteristics of the three layers of the pipe. Further, the present invention can improve adhesivity between the high tensile strength intermediate hard layer and impact resistant inner and outer hard layers and then prevention of reduction in impact strength. In addition, in the manufacturing process, the blending process of the respective components may be performed under high temperature and high viscosity conditions, and thus homogeneous mixing of the respective components and improved workability may be achieved. Additionally, antibacterial effects are maintained indefinitely.
Abstract:
In manufacturing a hose, a liner composed of a polymeric material is provided, as is a rubber outer body. The liner is reduced in diameter, placed into a the outer body, and secured to the rubber outer body by thermal treatment.
