A dual fuel boiler has a granular fuel burner and a fluid fuel burner. The fluid fuel burner is movable between a retracted stored position at a side of a combustion chamber-of the boiler and an extended operative position in which it extends out over a brazier of the granular fuel burner. Thus in the operative position substantially all of the flame and hot combustion gases generated by the fluid fuel burner in use are directed away from the brazier to prevent damage to the brazier.

Eine Zusatzanordnung für eine Feuerungseinrichtung besitzt eine Zuführungsvorrichtung für Brennstoffstücke von einem Lager (20) zur Feuerungseinrichtung (10). Die Zuführungsvorrichtung weist einen Zwischenspeicher (31) für Brennstoffstücke auf. Der Zwischenspeicher (31) ist in einem neben die Feuerungseinrichtung (10) stellbaren Turm (30) angeordnet. Von dem Zwischenspeicher (31) ist ein Förderweg (24, 12) zu einem Brenner (11) der Feuerungseinrichtung (10) vorgesehen.

A mill arrangement (10) for producing coal dust, comprising a mill (14), a plurality of dust lines (34), which conduct coal dust from the mill to a burner, a dust distributor (40) for distributing the coal dust to the dust lines, and means (42) for influencing the dust flow in the dust lines, is characterized in that the means for influencing the dust flow are formed such that their cross section can be changed and they are arranged in the mill upstream of the dust lines, between a sifter (32) and the dust distributor.

A fuel distribution device for fuel feed ducts, comprising a branching point in a fuel feed duct for feeding a mixed fluid of solid fuel and carrier gas to one or more burners installed in the wall surface of a furnace, a plurality of branch ducts branching off from the branching point and having the corresponding burners connected thereto, and a damper disposed in the fuel feed duct on the upstream side of the branching point and capable of changing the angle of inclination with respect to the direction of flow of the mixed fluid in such a manner as to cause the solid fuel concentrations in the mixed fluid fed to the branch ducts to deviate from each other. The angle of inclination of the damper is adjusted to increase the solid fuel concentration of the mixed fluid in a particular burner. The burner having a high solid fuel concentration fed thereto ensures ignition stability and stabilized combustibility of ignited flames during low loading.

Die Verweilzeit von Brennstoffpartikeln in Staubfeuerungen wird durch Anwendung einer Drehströmung und deren Umkehrung erheblich verlängert. Die Brennkammer (12) ist liegend angeordnet. Die Brennstoffpartikel werden drucklos über ein Fallrohr (29), das durch eine Förderschnecke (28) beschickt wird, der Brennkammer (12) zugeführt. Die Drehströmung und deren Umkehr wird durch Verbrennungsluft erzeugt, die durch Eintrittsöffnungen (31, 34, 37, 40) in die Brennkammer (12) gelangt.
