Abstract:
The data communication apparatus of the present invention includes a CPU, operation panel, reading unit, image memory for storing read image data, resolution converter for converting stored image data to an optional resolution, telephone communication unit for transmitting data over a telephone line, network communication unit for transmitting data over an internet line, and a printing unit. The resolution converter converts fine detail data to low detail data and sends the low detail data to the telephone communication unit when transmitting data over the telephone line. In this way data reception reliably occurs simultaneously with data transmission. Thereafter, when fine detail request data including resolution data are received over the telephone line, the data are converted to the desired resolution, and sent to the network communication unit. In this way the apparatus attains excellent operationality since fine detail data are transmitted only as necessary.
Abstract:
A print system comprises a digital camera and a printer. The digital camera photographs a subject and produces image data. Print data including print-setting data and printing data is produced from the image data and print setting information. The digital camera is provided with a high-speed radio I/F and a low-speed radio I/F. The printer is also provided with a high-speed radio I/F and a low-speed radio I/F. The setting data is transferred from the digital camera to the printer through the low-speed radio I/F. The printing data is transferred from the digital camera to the printer through the high-speed radio I/F. The printer prints an image of the subject on the basis of the print data transferred from the digital camera to the printer.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting facsimile data is provided, the method including providing an origination facsimile device connected to a computer network, the origination facsimile device being configured to transmit page data of a current facsimile job. Prior to commencing transmission of the page data, it is determined whether a destination facsimile device is currently connected to the computer network such determination being made at the origination facsimile device. If the destination facsimile device is determined to be connected to the computer network, a computer network communications link between the origination facsimile device and the destination facsimile device is established via the computer network. Page data thus is transmitted between the origination facsimile device and the destination facsimile device via the computer network communications link.
Abstract:
An Internet facsimile apparatus for receiving e-mail data, is connected to a computer network. The Internet facsimile apparatus comprises an e-mail receiver that receives e-mail data transmitted via the computer network. The e-mail data includes a header, document information and image information. Further, the Internet facsimile apparatus comprises a determiner that determines whether or not the document information contains a predetermined data. This predetermined data indicates that the e-mail data is data which was transmitted from an Internet facsimile apparatus. A printer in the Internet facsimile apparatus prints the entire received e-mail data when the determiner determines that the document information does not contain the predetermined data, and prints only the image information when the determiner determines that the document information contains the predetermined data.
Abstract:
Image data obtained by a mobile terminal with a built in camera are efficiently sent to a network printing system run by a DPE store. A cellular phone with a built in camera has communication means for communication via a wireless LAN. The DPE store installs wireless LAN communication equipment for communication via the wireless LAN at railroad stations, bus stops, and in downtown, for example. When a user having the cellular phone obtains the image data by photography and enters a communicable range of the wireless LAN communication equipment, the image data are sent to the wireless LAN communication equipment and stored in an image server of the DPE store. A mini-laboratory generates a print based on the image data.
Abstract:
A fax interface unit provides a novel way of sending and receiving a fax over a global computer network such as the internet. The fax interface unit is coupled to a legacy fax machine on one side and to both a local area network and the telephone network on the other side. When a first location transmits a fax document to a second location having an email address capable of receiving the fax document, the telephone network is bypassed and the transmitted fax document arrives as email at the second location, thereby reducing telephone cost and providing the second location with an archived document.
Abstract:
An electronic-mail apparatus comprises an acceptor that accepts an electronic-mail, an electronic-mail transmitter that transmits the accepted electronic-mail to a designated electronic mail destination address, and an operational panel that includes a start member that starts a transmission of an electronic-mail to a destination address. The operational panel designates an electronic mail destination address, and further designates an alternative destination address, to be used in case of a transmission completion failure, to which a message indicating a failure in completion of a started transmission of an electronic-mail is sent when the transmission of an electronic-mail started by the start member is not completed. The message provides an indication, at the alternative destination address, of a transmission completion failure during transmission of an electronic-mail.
Abstract:
An electronic mail apparatus includes an electronic-mail receiver that receives electronic mail from a mail sender via a communication network, a converter that converts the electronic mail into printable image data, and a printer that prints the converted image data. Further, the electronic mail apparatus includes a processor that transmits an error message to the mail sender when electronic mail that the electronic-mail receiver receives is not applied at the electronic-mail apparatus. The electronic-mail receiver, the converter, the printer and the processor are integrated in the electronic-mail apparatus.
Abstract:
A network facsimile apparatus having a real-time network facsimile function and an e-mail-based network facsimile function is provided. The network facsimile apparatus includes a selector for making a selection, for a transmission operation, whether to use the real-time network facsimile function or the e-mail-based network facsimile function. The selection is made in accordance with specified destination information.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus, a control method, a memory medium, and a program, in which further larger power saving can be accomplished are provided. An N/W interface circuit and a video interface circuit which are constructed so that a communication possible state and a communication impossible state can be independently controlled are provided. Transmission/reception situations of data to/from an external apparatus are monitored and a power supply and a non-power supply of those interfaces are controlled by a control unit, respectively.
