Abstract:
A picture image input device having the capabilities of a sheet fed scanner with respect to sheet-type original media and realizing the convenience of a hand scanner with respect to original media such as books and the like. The picture image input device includes a light source that emits light for reading an original medium, an image sensor, a projection optical system that composes an image of the original medium on the image sensor, a driving unit that moves the original medium relative to the image sensor and a folding joint unit that changes the usage state between one of an open state and a folded state. In the open state the picture image input device functions as a hand scanner. In the closed state the picture image input device functions as a sheet fed scanner. The reading position of the original medium is the boundary between a reading unit and a driving unit of the picture image input device in the folded state.
Abstract:
The hand-held scanning device is adjustable between a compact transport configuration and a relatively larger use configuration. In its compact transport configuration, the hand-held scanning device can conveniently be carried, for example, in a shirt pocket. In its use configuration, however, the device is capable of scanning a relatively large object. The hand-held scanning device may be constructed of two housing portions that slide or pivot relatively to one another to provide for this adjustment.
Abstract:
A foldable, portable optical instrument has an optical imaging head for providing an image of, or video signals of, a material placed on a table of a main housing structure of the optical instrument. The foldable instrument includes a head support mounted for raising-up and folding-down movement to rotatably support the imaging head and to position the imaging head over the table, units for illuminating the material on the table, respective supporting structures mounted for raising-up and folding-down movement to support the illumination units upwardly with respect to the table when the head support is raised up, and a cover attached to the head support for covering the illumination units and the supporting structures when the head support is folded down. The foldable instrument is provided with a carrying handle which can be drawn out of the outline of the instrument when the unit is folded down to enable grasping to carry around the instrument. The instrument preferably is used with a shading member, detachably mounted on the imaging head, to prevent the material on the table from receiving light other than from the imaging head.
Abstract:
A video scanning arrangement for scanning and digitizing documents, and having a scanner actuable to scan a document on a tablet beneath the scanner. The scanner is attached to a horizontal arm member which is in turn attached to and movable up and down a vertical support member which in turn is attached to the tablet. Two light arms are pivotally attached to the horizontal arm member and each light arm has a light source attached to its nonpivoting end. Each light arm is normally folded against the horizontal arm member for storage when the video scanning arrangement is not in use, and the light arms are extended to move the light sources away from the arm member when the video scanning arrangement is to be used. The light sources are energized to illuminate a document on the tablet when the scanner is actuated to scan a document.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which can suppress the occurrence of failure and breakage due to an operation error of a user and an external force.SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus comprises: a movable body 1 which has a locking receiving part formed thereon and is movable in a predetermined direction; a fixed body 2 which has a locking part formed thereon for locking the locking receiving part and fixing the movable body 1 to a predetermined position, and which is movable in a direction substantially orthogonal to a predetermined direction; first position holding means which engages a protrusion part formed in either one of a housing or the fixed body 2 with a first recess part formed in the other, and holds the fixed body 2 in a position at which the locking part locks the locking receiving part; and second position holding means which engages a protrusion part formed in either one of the housing or the fixed body 2 with a second recess part formed in the other, and holds the fixed body 2 in a position at which the locking part does not lock the locking receiving part.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a quantity of light from lighting equipment, even if the imaging position of a video camera is changed on the top surface of a table. SOLUTION: A material-presenting apparatus 100 has an arm part 143, made tiltable with respect to the table 120, and the degree of tilt is changed to make the video camera 130 selectively take a distant imaging attitude, where the video camera is farthest away from the table top and a close imaging attitude, where the video camera is closest to the table top. When the imaging attitude is thus changed, the material-presenting apparatus 100 makes a 1st lighting LED group 152 drive to swing by a lighting link mechanism 210, thereby causing the place irradiated with the light from the 1st lighting LED group 152 to change, to follow the shift in imaging position of the video camera 130.
