Abstract:
A system and method of obtaining a reconstructed digital image of an image that is projected, displayed, or printed on a surface by capturing a single digital image of the surface is described. According to the system and method, at least three illumination marks are projected onto the surface. The illumination marks have a particular detectable characteristic. An image capture device captures a single image of the surface including the illumination marks to obtain captured image data. The location and the pixel values corresponding to the illumination marks are detected dependent on the particular characteristic of the illumination mark pixels in the captured image data. The locations of the illumination marks are then used to correct for distortion of the image and surface in the captured image data to generate an undistorted digital image of the image on the surface. The illumination mark pixel values are replaced within undistorted digital image with estimated pixel values that are determined using neighboring non-illumination mark pixel values.
Abstract:
Apparatus for imaging an object (24), consisting of a projector (20), which is adapted to project and focus a marker pattern (22) onto the object, and a hand-held camera (26), which is adapted to capture an image of a region (34) defined by the marker pattern when the marker pattern is focussed onto the object.
Abstract:
Special holder for combination of an umbilical type scanner (10) with an inking highlighter (20) in an integral or piggy back unit, which upon use provides a visual record of what has been scanned as well as ''scan field verification'' which obviates the need to continuously call up the computer display to determine the scan accuracy. In alternate embodiments a special ''donut'' holder comprising a cylinder (40) with a felt highlighter tip (41) is provided into the axial bore of which is inserted a conventional or specially designed scanner (20). In still another embodiment an angled highlighter (45) may be clipped to a wand-type scanner (20). Scanning may be done with the highlights preceding or trailing the scanner in the case of the arrangement.
Abstract:
The present invention includes: a display/optical sensor section (300) that displays an image and captures an object image located in the vicinity of the display/optical sensor section (300); a browser processing section (11) that causes a window including a placement area to be displayed on the display/optical sensor section (300), the placement area being an area for placing an object; an API processing section (12) that converts first area information into second area information, the first area information indicating the location of the placement area in the window, the second area information indicating the location of the placement area in the display/optical sensor section (300); and a driver processing section (15) that derives a captured image, the captured image being an image of the object located in the vicinity of the display/optical sensor section (300) and captured through an area defined by the second area information.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a placing area whose display position is variable, in a device having one screen for both display and reading, and to read an image of an object placed in the placing area. SOLUTION: An image display/image detection device includes: a display/optical sensor part 300 displaying an image and reading a nearby image; a browser processing part 11 causing the display/optical sensor part 300 to display a window including the placing area for placing the object; an API processing part 12 converting first area information showing arrangement of the placing area in the window into second area information showing arrangement of the placing area in the display/optical sensor part 300; and a driver processing part 15 obtaining a read image as the nearby image read in an area specified based on the second area information of the display/optical sensor part 300. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader achieving space saving, good in operability and capable of reading an image with high image quality, and an image forming apparatus having the same. SOLUTION: The image reader 1 has a transparent plate 10 on which an original is placed, and a reading part 2 arranged on the back side of the transparent plate. The transparent plate 10 has: a transparent electroluminescence layer where transparent EL elements are two-dimensionally arranged; a transparent pressure sensitive sensor which outputs a two-dimensional pressing position when it is pressed; and a control part 3 displaying a control panel by using the transparent electroluminescence layer and receiving operation to the control panel based on the pressing of the transparent pressure sensitive sensor.
