    Abstract: Digital camera (1) is connected to personal computer (2) via communication cable (100). When a user operates a key to delete any one of images recorded on memory card (25) of the digital camera (1), digital camera (1) requests personal computer (2) to delete an image which links to the deleted image and is stored in personal computer (2). When receiving this command, personal computer (2) deletes the image linked to the image deleted from digital camera (1). These processes ensure consistency between an original image stored in the digital camera (1) and a copy image stored in the personal computer (2).

    Abstract: To enable the use of single use digital camera for acquiring, selecting and storing images that allows a customer to submit the captured images for development from a convenient location, while also providing the ability to delete unwanted images, a method is disclosed in which a customer is provided a single use digital camery, which the customer uses for acquiring, selecting and storing data corresponding to digital images, the data corresponding to selected images is received from the customer after the storing of the data and the selecting of the images. The single use digital camera provides no means for the customer to retrieve the stored data in image form. A method comprising additional steps allows the removal of selected ones of the data from the digital camera thereby preparing the camera for reuse. A system that provides means to perform the steps of the method for use of a single use digital camera is also described.

    Abstract: A camera including a processor and an image sensor, memory device, and communication port that are electrically coupled with the processor. The image sensor captures image data and transmits it to the processor, which sends it to the memory device for storage. After the image data is downloaded from the camera through the communication port, the processor becomes disabled. Preferably, the memory device is a volatile memory device that is permanently connected with a power supply. Preferably, the communication port is a standard USB receptacle.
