    Abstract: The hand-held electronic device 1 includes a central processing unit 12, a memory unit 13, a state-detecting unit 10, a state-determining unit 11, a main power supply unit 15, a standby power supply unit 16, and a power supply switching unit 14. If the state-detecting unit 10 detects that the device 1 is in freefall, the state-determining unit 11 will output a fall prevention instruction which causes the central processing unit 12 to store operation data in the memory 13 and to switch to the low potential standby power supply unit 16; meanwhile, the power supply switching unit 14 monitors power output and continues to supply low-potential power. In case of a fall of the hand-held electronic device 1, the device and method protect operation data and reduce the otherwise power-consuming current. The less power-consuming current is conducive to the reduction of capacitance required for a backup battery. The low-potential current mode is effective in reducing the time taken to recover the operation mode of the electronic device 1. The state-detecting unit 10 may be a gyroscope or an acceleration detector.

    Abstract: A fixing structure for a battery positions the battery in a casing of an electronic device. The fixing structure includes at least a connecting portion, at least a locking portion, and a receiving portion. The connecting portion is on one side of the battery and with a waterproof element. The locking portion is on the other side of the battery and is opposite to the connecting portion. The receiving portion is on the casing and with a first inserting portion and a plurality of second inserting portions. The first inserting portion and the second inserting portions correspond in position to the connecting portion and the locking portion respectively. Hence, the fixing structure protects the electronic device against permeation of water and ensures secure positioning of the battery.

    Abstract: A wireless triggering control device 10 utilising the Bluetooth (RTM) short range wireless standard for enabling a data collection host 21, such as a barcode reader, to execute a functional action such as an instruction to scan. The triggering control device comprises a Bluetooth (RTM) communication module 202, a control module 201 (such as a press button switch), and a power supply module 203 (such as a rechargeable battery) contained in a housing 20. The housing may comprise a handle. The control module instructs the Bluetooth communication module to output a triggering signal which corresponded to the functional action and the data collection host is then enabled by this triggering signal to perform the functional action.     Abstract: A high frequency sound triggering control device 10 for enabling a data collection host 21, such as a barcode reader, to execute a functional action such as an instruction to scan. The triggering control device comprises a processing unit 203, a speaker 204, a control module 202 (such as a press button switch), and a power supply module 201(such as a rechargeable battery) contained in a housing 20. The control module instructs the processing unit to output a control signal which corresponded to the functional action. High-frequency audio sound is then broadcast through the speaker to the data collection host which is then enabled to perform the functional action. The high frequency audio sound may be in the ultrasound or ultrasonic frequency range of 15000 Hz to 20000 Hz (15 kHz to 20 kHz.) The functional action maybe a scanning action or image capturing action.

    Abstract: A modular keyboard includes a plurality of press keys 115, an upper casing 11 for sealing to a lower casing 13 and forming an enclosure space between. A circuit board 17 is installed in the enclosure space and between an electric conduction element 15 and the lower casing. The upper casing and the lower casing can be plastic, engaged with each other by means of a groove (fig 1b 117) and combined using supersonic welding technique, to seal the enclosure space, enclosing and isolating the electric conduction element and the circuit board from the exterior. The electric conduction plate can be a circular metal plate sticker or carbon particle. The keyboard is made waterproof by welding the upper and lower casings as a whole.

Wenn in der ersten oder zweiten Firmware ein Fehler vorliegt, wird die durch den Fehler beeinträchtigte Firmware durch neue Firmware ersetzt. Wenn in der ersten oder zweiten Firmware kein Fehler vorliegt, wird die erste Firmware mit der zweiten Firmware bezüglich der Erzeugungs-Zeit der Bild-Kopfinformations-Datei verglichen, so dass die Firmware mit der früheren Erzeugungs-Zeit durch die neue Firmware ersetzt wird.     Abstract: A storage module stores first and second firmware, each having image header file data including cyclic redundancy checksum (CRC) information and image header file creating time information. New firmware is obtained from a server or other means, and its CRC information is used to determine whether it contains an abnormality, whereupon the new firmware may be obtained again. A method of updating firmware includes determining whether the first or second firmware has an abnormality according to its CRC information so as to replace the abnormality-stricken firmware with the new firmware. If both the first and second firmware have an abnormality then the process ends. When abnormalities are absent from both the first and second firmware, the creating time information of the first and second firmware are compared such that the firmware with the earlier creating time is replaced by the new firmware. The method makes operable firmware available even if the firmware updating operation fails. A method of creating firmware comprises combining kernel file data and file system data with header file data and increasing a data stream length to a maximum data stream length, where the header file data comprises CRC information and image header file creating time information.
